We stayed at the Middlebury Inn for 3 nights in early Oct. Our room, 116, was a large and lovely double-queen room with beautiful wallpaper, an enormous bathroom, and a separate sitting room with bookshelves, a second TV, and a small fridge. The furnishings and curtains were beautiful, and we had a lovely corner view of the village green. Middlebury is located in a beautiful area in Vermont that is perfect for those who enjoy fall foliage, museums, visits to colleges in the area, or just spending quiet time in a large and lovely inn with beautiful rooms, large and comfortable public spaces, and wonderful food and hospitality. Room rates include room-service coffee or tea each morning, a wonderful breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, free internet access and wi-fi, and free and convenient parking. It is, as it has always been, a destination in and of itself, and we hope that the new owners limit their renovations so that return visitors (and there are many) will continue to look forward to coming back to the Inn that they have enjoyed for decades. The Middlebury Inn has a history that goes back to 1827, and it was a highlight of our fall vacation. We look forward to returning.
