“Good pub and vittles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012 via mobile

They have a busy but good pub, with a fair selection of brews and daily specials.
In the restaurant our group of 12 was fit in by the helpful hostess, unfortunately our waiter seemed to be inexperienced and had a bit of difficulty in getting the orders and billing Sorted out. There were compliments on the New England Clam Chowder, Santa Fe Tortellini, Mac & Cheese, Top Sirloin and Shepherd's Pie. No favorable comments on the Fish & Chips or Beef Stroganoff.

“Great family dinner...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

6 of us from 10 to 48 really enjoyed a leisuely and excellent dinner here. Always nice to get something blackened and actually have it be spicy. The servers were very accomodating and personable. All three courses were well received.

“Great atmosphere, excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2012

Having lived in Middlebury a decade ago when Two Brothers opened to great fanfare, and having passed through many times in the years since, I can only say that this wonderful place just keeps getting better. My wife and I passed through again a few months ago, and there's still nothing better than Beal, one of the brothers, or Andy (both extraordinary bartenders) mixing up your drink of choice to take the edge off a brutal Vermont winter night. The other brother, Holmes, is a warm and gracious host, and we always feel welcome here, no matter how long we've been gone. The food is reasonably priced, locally sourced, and lovingly crafted (try the cheesesteak!). I can't say enough about this place. We can't wait to get back!

“Beware the Pricey Drinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

My wife and I visited this resturant on a Saturday and were seated with no wait, Our meals, beer (mine) and vodka drinks (hers, 2 Stoli Ras with seltzer $5 each) were very nice. I decided to order a Margrita with Patron and a splash of Grand Manrnier whicn was served in a 6oz glass, they charged me $19 for the drink. After complaining they knocked off $5, still very pricey for a 6oz drink. If your looking have a margrita i'd reccomend going somewhere else.

Hello Joe Worcester,

Thank you for taking the time to review us. I apologize for the confusion with your margarita order. After extensively researching the issue and speaking with other people in your party, it has become clear that your server thought you wanted a Petron Maragrita and a shot of Grand Marnier rather than a "float" on top of the margarita. I am glad to hear that they reconciled the issue and gave you the Grand marnier for free. We appreciate your patronage and feeback, and will use this misunderstanding as an educational tool to avoid this happening again in the future.

Sincerely,

Holmes

“Lunch is much better than dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

After several visits I have decided that this is the place to go when most other places in Middlebury are closed. The temperature and presentation of the food and the quality of the wait staff vary from visit to visit. The atmosphere in the bar in the evening is pleasant. If you are just interested in refueling close to the college then okay, but if you want to "dine" go elsewhere.

Dear hoyland54,

Thank you for srtopping in and taking the time to review us. We do take great pride in our food and that fact that more than 85% of our menu is sourced from local Vermont growers, producers and purveyors. I apologize if the food has ever been inconsistant as this is not the typical experience of our patrons. We appreciate your feedback and will use this information as an aducational tool to ensure that we improve our future service. Thank you,

Holmes
