“Charm, warmth, hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Gloria and Ken are the most joyful, hospitable people I've met in a long time. The home-cooked breakfasts each morning were incredible (including spiced apple fluffy pancakes), and they took the time to talk with us and tell us about different things to do in the area. It was so peaceful and quaint that we felt totally relaxed and didn't feel badly about sleeping in and getting a late start each day. The inn itself is a really historical building with a lot of character. Best of all, they are dog-friendly and showed a lot of love to our 1 year old black lab! We'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: Stay in the Morning Glory room to enjoy a four poster bed and a view of the sunrise over the garden...

I would like to recommend the McIndoe Falls Inn if you are looking for a place to relax for a day of two in a no rush environment. The Gloria and Ken are the nicest of hosts and you can tell that they really like what they are doing. They are also very knowledgeable about the area and will go out of their way to make sure that your stay is a pleasant one. Ken saw that I had my motorcycle tilting a bit and he went out and put a flat stone under the kickstand. They also went out to collect fresh duck eggs for my breakfast as I had never had one before. The breakfast was very good and one of the guests came down way past the time they generally stop serving and he asked if it would be possible to get something as they did not know it was available. They said of course and it was obvious that they were happy to accommodate them. Very comfortable bed, clean and quiet. A big old farmhouse on a bit of the older side, but as we say, it is full of true character and this place also has some great characters operating it. Rt 5 is a great road to explore on motorcycle, bicycle or by car. Don't miss this wonderful part of Vermont.

The inn, the area and the staff offer alot of character and charm. Easy to get to from the highway yet nicely out of the way. The breakfast was delicious as well as healthy. Historic, lots of very nice antique furniture, natural landscape, fresh air, clean water, peace and quiet... Memorable experience...

An excellent location (a little tricky to find at night) but the daytime views are historic. Hosts were delightful, engaging and extremely helpful. The morning coffee and the breakfast were delicious.

It was a pleasure to stay in this 200 year old inn and escape the hustle of the city. We were referred here when a local motel in St. Johnsbury was sold out and I am glad it was. The innkeepers, Gloria and Ken only add to the charm. You could not have met nicer people to talk with and take care of you. They have a wonderful little bed and breakfast which we were told they have been operating for 45 years. I am sorry we had not found this place sooner. I highly suggesting staying if you make it up to this part of Vermont. We will be back next time we get out of NYC!!!

Room Tip: Stay in the Front Room if available.
