Unfortunately, we did not make prior reservations on Sunday night of Veterans Day weekend. We were unaware that many restaurants in the Manchester area were closed that night (Mulligans, Silver Fork, etc). We arrived early (around 5:30) after returning from visiting the Charlotte/South Burlington, VT area. While nearly all the tables were empty, the receptionist advised us there were no tables available due to prior reservations. We guessed they must all have been flooding in immediately after we left. It was a shame, as we had reviewed the menu at our inn prior and were quite interested.
Unfortunately the receptionist was somewhat condescending, acting as though we should have known that we should have reservations for every night and that we could just head down the road and find something. Too bad they could not have found one table for a vet on Veterans Day weekend (though I would never have played that card!). We were encouraged not to wait in or even visit the bar area as we were advised it was small and really only for diners.

1st let me thank you for being a Veteran. We appreciate everyone that serves Our country and protects us. I am sorry you did not get a chance to dine at Ye Olde Tavern. Even though tables were empty at that exact moment they were reserved for a little later that evening. We do encourage reservations and walk-in tables, but if we take a reservation, that is our promise to the guest that the table will be available at their desired time. If we did seat you, we would not have a enough time to get the tables back. Michael
