“A Beautiful Meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Brasserie L'Oustau offers French comfort food, that ideal intersection of rich, traditional flavors and elegance. The menu is, almost by definition, familiar, but their preparations are pretty close to perfect. Their liver and onions and (at the other end of the meal) their creme brulee are probably the best I've ever had. Excellent sauces. Gracious attentive service. Family owned and operated. The easiest parking in Manchester, and a beautiful meal.

“Thanksgiving Couldn't Get Better....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Brasserie L'Oustau. This restaurant is excellent! We opt-out of the traditional Thanksgiving food (turkey) and ordered the most delicious piece of fish I've ever had. The wait staff were very attentive. The desserts is to die for!

“A French style brunch in Vermont”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Absolutely fabulous find for brunch! We passed by this place on our way to Manchester and stopped by the following day for brunch. I ordered the smoked salmon L'oustau and my husband the french toast. Both come on their fabulous brioche served very nontraditionally, but deliciously, in a large "texas toast" style. We also ordered the cheese plate (indecision causes us to over order) and were very please we the selection of Vermont cheeses, especially with the waitresses recommendation. The service is fast and friendly, and the drinks (Yay, morning cocktails!) delicious, do try the elderflower power if you get the chance. We will definitely need to return for dinner.

“Romantic atmosphere, excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. Service was excellent, attentive and fast. Food was delicious without being pretentious as can be the case at some French restaurants. Wonderful diversity of dishes. I treated myself to the Saturday special Boulliabasse. Wonderful twist on this classic with a variety of available seafood and interesting additional herbs. Portions were all reasonable and adequate.

“Very French; Very Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

A bit of a surprise to find Michel, the owner, greeting us at the door on a slow weekday evening in October. A nicely appointed white table cloth restaurant, far more than a Brasserie, with excellent service, great oysters, and nicely done mussels as well. Highly recommended but not inexpensive.
