“Great owners, very good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

This small restaurant is run efficiently without making you feel rushed. The owners are a husband and wife: he cooks and she is the hostess/server (with help). The food was very good -- a number of the metals the chef has won are hanging on the wall. (They didn't point them out, we asked what they were.)

“Fabulous experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

After consulting Tripadvisor, my husband and I made a reservation for dinner since we had a weekend getaway to Manchester planned. Thankfully, I made plans 10 days in advance because times available were sparse! After eating at Silver Fork, we understand why. The entire experience was wonderful from the attentive service to the absolutely phenomenal food. This is a "do not miss" dining experience if you are anywhere in the Manchester area.

“A Five Star Dining Experience in Beautiful Manchester”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

My wife and I were visiting New England for the Fall foliage and stayed in Manchester for 3 nights. We booked a dinner reservation at Silver Fork for our first night after reading other Trip Advisor reviews. What a wonderful restaurant! We travel a lot and have eaten at some great restaurants. Chef Mark French and his wife, Melody, have created a great selection and presentation of delicious menu items in a comfy, cozy, casual, and intimate restaurant. This is an intimate small restaurant with only 6 tables and the bar with about 8 seats. You definitely should make a reservation to make sure you don’t miss eating at the Silver Fork.

We enjoyed our meal so much the first night that we booked a second night at the restaurant before our main entrée arrived. Mark is an amazing chef. During our two nights there, we had some amazing appetizers: three cheese French onion soup, baked goat cheese peach drizzled with white truffle honey, caramelized smoked salmon & mango, and lobster “Caribbean” risotto. The entrees that we had were even more amazing: salmon strudel wrapped in spinach & filo, Maryland crab cake (100% crab that is as good as I have ever had), rack of lamb, and open face Beef Wellington. This was five star food that was to die for!

Equally impressive is how Melody is a warm and friendly presence in the restaurant. She is a very fun and interesting person and we had a great time talking with her. She also has built an interesting selection of white and reds wines to go with Mark’s menu. You won’t find any $75+ bottles of wines on the list but rather a selection of $30-$50 wines that compliment Mark’s menu quite nicely. All wines come by the bottle and glass. You get a healthy pour (4 glasses per bottle) and the cost per glass is the same whether you buy a full bottle or just a glass. Melody is happy to let you sample any wine before you buy it.

We also somehow managed to find room for desserts each night, splitting a wonderful white chocolate mousse the first night and a great fruit cobbler the second night.

Needless to say, you should not miss having a dinner at the Silver Fork if you are in Manchester. I did ask Mark and Melody, why they did not build a larger restaurant since they could easily fill it with the demand for their fine cuisine? They had a simple answer. We love making great food paired with great wine while also wanting the restaurant to be small, quaint, and unpretentious. We do this because we want this restaurant to be an extension of us where we don’t need to worry about a large staff and can simply focus on creating a great food and dining experience.

Go to the Silver Fork and tell them that Mike & Patty told you to dine there.

“A Manchester Must!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

This was our second visit to this delightfully quaint restaurant. We were just as pleased wih this visit as we were with our visit in July. The food, the service, the atmosphere - exceptional. It is so nice to find a resaturant where you don't have to shout across the table to hold a conversation.
We will be back soon!

“Extraordinary food, incredibly warm owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

At the advice of friends, my wife and I had dinner last week at the Silver Fork. As others have noted, the menu is an eclectic mix of cuisines, with great variety, originality, and creativity. The restaurant is indeed tiny, so reservations are absolutely necessary.

The attention offered by the chef's wife, Melody, couldn't be warmer or more gracious, and she explains the less familiar dishes beautifully and without even a hint of condescension (as might be the case at similarly accomplished restaurants).

We felt the prices were very reasonable for what we received, namely a delicious, welcoming, and intimate experience. Would recommend exceptionally highly.
