“Great Southwestern food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013 via mobile

Not your typical taco joint. The food seems to have a creative twist to it, even the beans. We ate outdoors on a wonderful fall day and had a great lunch. We did not have a chance to come back for dinner, but would do so when we are next in town.

Thank you, Bill. We do try to put a special flair to whatever we do. Our beans are cooked with vegetable stock and we had spices, peppers and onions. It's all about the flavor!

“A Southwestern experience in the Northeast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

We always stop here for a meal each time we visit the area. It is always terrific. The menu is large and varied. Not only are there the typical mexican dishes (done well), there are also Southwestern offerings. Plenty of options for vegetarians too. They offer selections for the kids too. The bar is well stocked, and drinks are well made.
If you sign up for their emails, you will receive a monthly email which is fun to read. It also contains coupons for the "special" of the month. In addition, you can receive a coupon for your birthday and anniversary if you sign up.
They have a large outdoor seating area and allow you to bring your dog with you when you dine outside.
This is a great casual spot, not to be missed, if this is the type of cuisine you enjoy.

“Just Not Impressed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

Our first thought was how it was very quiet for dinner on a Friday night and usually that's a sign that it's not a restaurant locals might frequent. But we were greeted with friendly faces and were seated in a clean dining room and at a clean table. We decided to share a BBQ entree and a Mexican one and in the end were just kind of overall disappointed in the quality and flavors. The brisket was dry and seemed more like day old pot roast than fresh slow smoked BBQ. The cole slaw and bean sides lacked flavor and creativity. A lot of the Mexican dish lacked flavor too - supposed marinated chicken had hardly any flavor. We did enjoy the chipotle wing appetizer and the overall service staff seemed friendly and welcoming.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and we are so sorry you did not enjoy the food. While we can assure you that we try hard to present the very best and fresh bbq, apparently we failed here. Your comments will help us to make sure we do our best 100% of the time.

“Lovely Mexican for a treat.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

Very nice high end Latin fare, super staff but the price reflects the quality of the food. We went for a special occasion and would do so again.

Thank you so much, Ian. With the high prices of quality ingredients, it is hard to present what we hope is always fresh, excellent food. We try to provide our guests with the best of everything from the atmosphere to the decor, the service and the food. We're definitely higher than your average taco or bbq joint, but we do our best to make sure the experience at Gringo Jack's is an all around excellent time! We want the value to come from the all around experience.
We're so happy that you enjoyed us and will return. Please sign up for our club membership - the advantages are numerous with an award winning newsletter to coupons and anniversary dinner specials.
See you soon!

“Upscale yet Kid Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

My 7 year old son and I ate at Gringo Jack's twice during our 10 day Vermont vacation. The staff was very accommodating and there is quite an extensive children's menu that includes a main course, drink and dessert. Adults will be very happy with the rest of the menu and the food is excellent. Plan on making a reservation for one of the outdoor tables. Indoors is quite large. There is a well air conditioned dining room as well as a large bar area with booths and high top tables.
