“Pleasantly Surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2007

Just returned a few weeks ago from the Aspen. I have to say I was very weary to book there since there were no pictures of the hotel, very few reviews, and didn't know anyone that stayed there before. But we were very pleasantly surprised. Don't let the "Motel" in the name scare you....my husband was very worried when I said we were staying at a motel. For the first time ever, every review I read on here was so accurate. The rooms were immaculate (I think this place was as clean, maybe cleaner than the $400 a night Ritz Carlton we stayed at!) and incredibly well kept, the beds were a bit uncomfortable. I think the decor was more the style than outdated, like a country inn, even though some of the fixtures in the bathroom looked a bit outdated. The owners were so hospitable. The pool and grounds were also immaculate. Overall beautiful place! Walking distance to shopping and restaurants and a quick drive to skiing and the Alpine slide. Would definitely stay here again and absolutely would recommend going there!

The Aspem Motel was a very pleasant surprise! It was extremely clean and in good condition. The owner was friendly and accomodating. The motel was full the weekend I was there, but still, you didn't hear a sound through the walls, so it seems to be well soundproofed. The pool looked great, although I forgot a swimsuit. The only downfall was that the beds were a little too hard to get a comfy nights sleep. Otherwise, everything was great -- the A/C worked well, the refrigerator was a plus, and the location (close to town) couldn't have been better. Great value!

The Apen was a great place to stay. The room was neat, clean, spacious and had a refrigerator. Lacked a little decor, but let's face it we were not in Vermont to stay all day cooped up in our room. Our children enjoyed the pool it was close to our room and very clean. As for location, it is about 1/2 mile to town. A very easy walk! And looks out at the mountains. While staying at the Aspen our car broke down. The owner went way our of his way to assit us in getting it repaired. Since, this was the beginning of our journey we were so.. thankful for his assitance. I would reccomend the Aspen for a great weekend stay.

My boyfriend and I and another couple stayed here last weekend for one night after a bike ride from Connecticut. The Aspen seemed very clean and comfy. The decor was a little out dated and the mattresses bothered my back but for one or two nights this place is great! We didn't get a chance to go to the pool and I'm not sure if it was heated but it looked beautiful and there were people swimming in it. The location is awesome, it's right down the street from all the restaurants and outlets and you really can't beat the price. There were a lot of cable channels which was surprising but great and the refrig in the room was great to use also. All in all, the Aspen is a great place to stay maybe not for a whole week but definitely for a few days!

The rooms here seem to be recently refurbished and are very very clean. I am extremely picky about cleanliness, and this is one of the best places I've ever stayed in that regard. Decor is comfortable and homey. This motel is in a great location, handy to ski areas and outlet shopping. Great value. This is where to go for a laid back, stress-free Vermont vacation!

This is an outstanding value in a very scenic area of Vermont. Our room was very clean and everything worked. There is no wireless in the rooms but you can go to the office (actually a living room) and use your wireless connection to the internet there. We will return.

The Aspen Hotel is an exceptional value; very, very clean rooms and close to Manchester/Manchester Center attractions including the Stratton ski area. Loved it!

Thank you to the Welsh's for their fine hospitality!
