“History preserved”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

So glad there are people committed to preserving historical homes like this. The last of the Lincoln family and the history celebrated through a restored home and grounds.

“Beautiful Vermont Landmarl”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

This is a very well presented piece of American History. The Lincoln family home in Manchester, VT is in a perfect New England setting and the museum itself is very well done. We visited in the winter but the gardens look amazing. There are apparently 1000 peonies blooming every spring. I can't wait to plant my Hildene Peony seeds I bought in the gift shop in my own garden!

“A Beautiful and Historical Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

It was the coldest day in January, but we had heard that we had to go if in Manchester. It was good advice. If you like historical homes, this should be on your list. The home is surprisingly "Normal", lacking the gold and marble of places like "The Breakers". One can get a real sense of how the family lived and many of the original furniture items and personal artifacts are still in the home. Definitely worth the trip; but go in the Summer if you can.

“I would love to live here.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Beautiful, large, old, and luxurious. The house was decorated for Christmas and it was devine. Had so much charm and warmth. Furnished nicely with comfortable looking chairs, beds, and sofas. I loved the organ in the front hall.

“Walked the grounds-beautiful-didn't have time to go inside”

The grounds are immaculately kept. The house is supposed to be spectacular and a fascinating story besides.
