We just returned from a 3 night trip to Vermont. Needless to say, it was amazing!
The Frog's Leap Inn was great. The innkeepers Kraig and Doreena were SO nice, accomidating and helpful. They were so personable and Doreena is a really good cook/baker (the breakfasts were amazing)! You also get a welcome package left on your door with really tasty baked goods!
The Inn itself was so cute/homey. The gounds were gorgeous, with some walking trails and an inground pool!
The room was kinda small - but there's no need for tons of room and everyone has their own bathroom. There is a communal room with a fireplace, fridge, computer with internet, tv with cable and games.
There is stuff to do in the area, but you have to be willing to take some road trips (the scenery is beautiful - so it's definitly worth it).
In Londonderry, there is a ceramic place next door to the Inn(pretty stuff). A farmer's market on Saturday's and Shoe Barn.
In Weston, which is about 5 minutes drive, there is the Weston playhouse, we saw "Doubt" which was pretty good. There is also a Cabaret/Comedy show every evening. There is a huge Country Store which has anything you've ever thought of wanting. The candy is pretty good too and there are tons of free samples!
Manchester has outlets and Hildene (a Lincoln family home with a house and gardens to tour). There are also cute shops and places to eat. There is also The Equinox Drive which takes you up a mountain for a nice view.
Ludlow has some shops and food places.
Bennington has a museum and a Civil War Monument which has an elevator to the top (or at least almost the top). They also have covered bridges which you can drive through.
All in all, Southern Vermont was great. I would have stayed forever if I could. Everywhere you look there is something to see! Also, staying in the Frog's Leap Inn made it all the better!
