I booked this lodge for a last minute 'leaf peeping' trip. The pros: The grounds are beautiful. The animals are very friendly (they know the humans give them food!). And the lodge does feel quite remote even though it's very close to the Killington ski area. It is definetely a family oriented lodge. There was a game room with 2 video games, a pool table, ping pong table, and fooseball table. You can access the lake and hiking trails right on the grounds. The staff was terrific and gave suggestions on restaurants in the area and called for reservations for us. They also offered us breakfast to go since we were leaving very early. I would definetely bring my children back someday.

The Cons: Since we're newlyweds I thought that a jacuzzi and fireplace would be a nice romantic touch. Do not book the fireplace/jacuzzi suite if that is your intention! I'm pretty sure the jacuzzi is the first ever invented. It barely fits two adults. My husband could not stretch his legs out and have his shoulders in the tub at the same time. I didn't actually verify, but I believe that lodge is on well/lake water. The water had quite an earthy smell. I never did taste it. We could never figure out how to work the retro fit propane fireplace. The room is clearly designed for families with two couches with pullout twin beds. Which is nice except for the fact that sitting on the couches is very uncomfortable because they are so short. We couldn't sit comfortably together on the couch so we finally used our laptop to watch a DVD in bed. The lodge is old and the floors squeek. I actually woke up in the middle of the night because the people in the room above us were walking around. If you are a light sleeper you need to bring earplugs! The lodge is very much a Vermont lodge. Everything is made of wood or wood paneled and all of the rooms are decorated with multiple floral designs. If this if what you love, you will love the lodge! It just wasn't really what I was looking for right now.

After traveling to Vermont several times a year my wife and I found the Mountains Meadows Lodge. We choose this Lodge to have our wedding, and stay here when ever in the area. The lodge is a bit rustic, and fits for the Vermont county side. Rooms are simple, comfortable and everything is slow paced. The scenery, location and farm feel is why people stay here. There are many this to do. The Lodge has several animals that roam the property. It is right on the Lake for fishing or a canoe ride. Its only 5 minutes from Killington ski-golf area. The App. Trail runs right through the property. Breakfast and dinner are home made by the owners. It a quaint feel when you stay here if your looking for the simple life.

We spent a couple days here and in late July. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The kids loved the animals, especially Alice the pig and Alex the Shetland pony. We were treated to a nice steak dinner outside. Then we enjoyed stargazing, a campfire, smores, and bad jokes with the owner and his family. The kayaking and canoing on Kent Lake was the highlight. The lake is beautiful and there is a waterfall and an island to see. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We highly recommend this place, especially for families.

This place is NOT worth what you pay for it. It is musty, dark, and just disappointing. Don't go expecting a quaint lodge. The beds are not comfortable, they use some sort of noxious room deodorizer spray, and the rooms above the kitchen are sweltering. We had to keep our window open in February. The "snack" in the common room is stale crackers and mediocre cheese. The dinner they force you to pay for in your room fee was wrap sandwiches and macaroni and cheese. In order to have a glass of wine or a beer, you have to find the front desk person (who is rarely AT the front desk) and have her unlock the refrigerator. The game room has a pool table--which you have to PAY to use, despite the fact we paid $170 for the room. The sauna and hot tub are the only redeeming qualities. We have travelled all over the world, and do not mind roughing it--we do mind when we shell out $175/night. It's a dump, plain and simple.

About 5 minutes from the ski slopes. Quiet, scenic location away from the heavily commericial access rd to Killington. Comfortable to hang out in after a full day of skiing: outdoor hot tub, communal fireplace. Food is nothing to write home about.
