Stayed here for the first time this past season for two nights. The staff was friendly and didn't have any maintenance or cleanliness issues. In fact I was impressed how fast the snow was cleared after a major storm. Room size with two double beds was fairly roomy but showed it's age. The property is older with some areas needing updating like the carpets, etc. Some areas were newer but others were like from the 70's or something. It was a mix match. This wasn't a large happening place but the little bar/lounge area was pretty cool with a pool table. A nice quiet little hang out area. Dinner food was pretty decent. The included breakfast wasn't anything special and seemed like frozen pancakes/sausages, etc. The dining area wasn't bad with a nice view of a valley. The indoor pool area/hot tub was just ok for it's age in my opinion. Seemed great for kids though. Location was good just beyond the snow shed lodge across the road. Walkable but a bit of a hike. Can't ski back. I might stay here again if the price was right for a quick overnighter.

At first, I was skeptical of the Cascades Lodge as the place to stay for our romantic/snowboarding weekend because of all the reviews criticizing its 80's decor and honestly the price. We are a couple in our 20's and were a little wary of what the environment would be like. But it was GREAT! The location was awesome, we literally walked home from the slopes (took the free shuttle up in the morning). The room was very cute, almost like a country bed and breakfast. There was a little bar that was open in the evening where we had a couple drinks before going in the jacuzzi. The staff was very nice and accommodating, they kept the hot tub open an extra hour for us since it was crowded all night before closing and we couldn't go in. Even the breakfast was pretty decent and the dining room view was of the pretty snowy scenery. The only drawback was that there aren't really any places to eat nearby without driving, which kinda sucks when you're tired from boarding all day. I Overall, I would definitely stay there again and recommend it for anyone who wants to stay near the slopes somewhere clean and quaint.

We stayed at The Cascades Lodge for four nights over President's week. There were four of us...all adult size. When I booked, I was told the room was quite large with plenty of room for four. We asked for a pet-friendly room, which is something they advertise as being available. For the money we paid, we were very disappointed. The rooms were either too hot or freezing cold. The water pressure was poor, and the room was barely big enough for the four us. While the place was clean, everything in it was very outdated and old. The restaurant was the most updated area of the hotel. The "spacious lobby" was a small corner with room to seat 5 people. We had read that the beds were comfortable, but anyone who has been in a halfway decent hotel in the past couple of years knows that more plush mattresses are the norm. There were absolutely no extras, like a gift shop, or vending machines. The pool was nice, as was the hot tub. The breakfast each morning was passable, but 3 out of the 4 mornings the food was barely lukewarm. We were constantly bombarded from above with loud booms...you could here the people walking in the room above, as well as everyone going up and down the stairs.

All in all, the Cascades Lodge was an old lodge with not much to do. I don't believe it has been updated in many, many years. When we return to Killington, we will absolutely NOT stay here,a s there are several other, nicer options available at a comparable price.

I always try get to Killington to ski early in the season. I stayed twice at The Cascades, the second stay was over Thanksgiving. I specially loved the large indoor pool. I have been to other places on the mountain, and no body has a pool like this one. My rooms were clean and had great views looking at the mountains. Thanksgiving was busy and they had a huge buffet breakfast. Turkey dinner was delicious and the service was friendly. I will be back.

We booked late for Columbus weekend so this was the only place I could find with a room available. For what we got I thought it was overly expensive. The person I booked on the phone with was a dolt. We were very disappointed that neither the restaurant nor the bar were open - we were told they are seasonal. The breakfast buffet was nothing to rave about. We felt taken advantage of and would not stay here again, or return to Killington. (We're motorcyclists, not skiers.)

  • Liked — Nothing
  • Disliked — They did not tell us of the limited amenities of the fall season.
