My husband and I just love the Fitch Hill Inn. Although we live somewhat nearby in neighboring New Hampshire, staying at the Inn makes us feel worlds away and allows us to relax completely and truly break from our hectic routines.
We first discovered the Inn three years ago when we were looking for someplace near Stowe or Smugglers' Notch for a ski weekend. It is very convenient to both mountains, and the Inn offers lift ticket specials for guests. We had such a nice and relaxing time, ate so extravagantly, and left so completely refreshed, we have made a tradition of it and now visit Julie and John every year.
The Inn is a very well kept New England farmhouse style home with traditional layout and features. The standard rooms are somewhat cozy, but they all have private baths and are tastefully furnished, and guests have use of the dining, living, and sitting rooms in addition to their bedrooms. The suites are large and comfortable and feel like having your own apartment with all of the privacy and none of the responsibility. The jacuzzis in the suites are particularly luxurious after a long day on the slopes.
I would be remiss if I did not make special mention of the excellent dining. I am not usually one to take a large breakfast, but I joyfully devoured each of the courses set before me...true delicacies...and went off to ski with plenty of energy and sustenance.
If you're looking for a getaway where you can truly get away, this is the place for you!
