“smells like... delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

Enter the skunk hollow restaurant and forget about any preconceived notions of another pub grub greasy spoon. We reserved a table downstairs and were promptly seated upon arrival. Even though we hadn't planned on an appetizer, we were swayed into ordering the bread basket. No disappointments; warm, fresh, and light with lots of variety.

Entrees were manicotti and filet mignon. The manicotti ingredients were fresh and not masked by a garlicky cream sauce, a crime committed by many lesser restaurants. The filet was ordered medium rare and was cooked to perfection. My wife is a bit of a steak expert and she walked out with a big smile as her last 2 or 3 restaurant steak experiences were sub par.

If you're travelling through Southern Vermont check out the Skunk Hollow Tavern but make a reservation so you're not disappointed!

“Local Friday night happening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Quaint small local tavern with great food most nights and music on Friday nights. Local Blues, and Jazz, check the web page. Upstairs dining for romantic fine dining and Pub style downstairs. Expect music at your feet if you sit downstairs and as the temop builds, out go the tables and chairs and the visitors get up to shake off al the stress of the week.

“Who doesn't like the Skunk?!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Awesome atmosphere - old pub/tavern feel for casual dining on the main floor. A little fancier upstairs and quieter if you're looking for something more romantic. The Skunk has been around forever. A place where everybody knows your name. Great local music some nights and an open mic night too. Good drinks. Delicious food. Chicken Carlos is a classic dish. Desserts are scrumptious.

“Clearly a place for locals”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

We stopped by for the open mic night at the recommendation of our inn keeper. The music was really great, but we felt like outsiders. We couldn't really see what was going on and so we had a quick beer and headed out.

“Exellent meal in a unique setting.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

This was a pleasant surprise. We stopped by on the Saturday night of Columbus Day weekend without a reservation. We were lucky to get a table downstairs in the bar area. There is a great atmosphere here. The building is very old, dating to the 1700's. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. It we lived closer we would be here all the time. Try the Chicken Carlos.
