“LOTS OF STAIRS”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Be prepared to walk up three flights of stairs! We were there on a beautiful sunny day with a great view of Willoughby Gap. Actually the sun was quite strong. Unfortunately there were no umbrellas so we relocated to the bar area. Sunday nite is their Mexican night.I had beef fahitas for $17. Meat was quite chewy all 1/4 pound of it. Better to have the $19 skirt steak 8 ounces. My wife had the nachos which she enjoyed. Not many choices available in the NEK so we will be back but not next week.

“Meet the locals in the winter and sometimes summer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

The Tamarack is the place to catch up some of the locals and staff at the end of the day. The bar fills rapidly. The sound level can be high. The design of the building was never good and this place could have been bigger had the lodge been better designed and it could have flowed better. It is a lot of stairs to get to it so it feels like a long walk from the parking lot. Food is consistent and much better than pub fare, cheerfully served. The regular bartenders Tamara and Roger are great company, good to talk with and if you need advice about what else to do in the area they know it well.
Summer is a particularly nice time there because the view can be really nice, clouds permitting, and sunset can make you stay for another beer.
The local skiers are sometimes found here. The condo owners that are regulars are always there and if you start a conversation you will not be a stranger long. Burke has a unique character and some of it is here. It is not the Mountain Road in Stowe or Killington and thank goodness.

“Excellent Food and Beer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

When at Burke Mountain the Tamarack Grill is a great place to go to. It offers a relaxing atmosphere by being above the main lodge and away from the general hustle and bustle. While the menu is not very expansive you will find something you like to energize yourself and get back on the slopes. The bar has an excellent lineup of beers on tap for you to enjoy. Be sure to step outside on the deck for some fresh air and a view of the mountain.

“Great pub, good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

I haven't eaten on the restaurant side in quite a while, but the pub is a great hang-out where you can get a really excellent, largely locally sourced meal at a decent price. Good beer selection, friendly, attentive service.
