We visited several wineries on a recent trip to Vermont. The very best by far was the Charlotte Village Winery. This is a tiny place that you could easily overlook. Don't!!! Seek it out. There is a fabulous deck and views of the mountains. The tastings are absolutely FREE! Got to love that one, but the best thing is the wine. Usually I am a Merlot drinker, but after tasting the lushious fruity wines of this winery, I am a fan for life. There is a nice little bar where the hostess will pour you anything you want to try. You can also look down into the "business" end from a huge window, or browse in the little gift area. They even have a bathroom (bonus if you have been sampling wine all day). The strawberry wine is sweet and lushious, and the apple crisp is good as well, but for me the rasberry is my clear winner. It is tart and crisp with just a touch of sweet and sooooooooooooo good. There is a discount if you buy so much and a free glass of wine as well. We will be going back here often!
