“Great B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at Applewood Manor. We were made to feel right at home, had a nice comfortable clean room, offered suggestions on local restaurants for dinner, and treated to a wonderful breakfast. I would definitely recommend it, and would stay again if I'm in the area. Thank you to Nancy and Ralph.

Room Tip: All rooms (5) appeared to be fine. We stayed in Delia's room with twin beds. Other rooms had a k...

Applewood Manor is an absolutely lovely B&B. The food is fantastic! The rooms are very cozy and comfortable. There are three common area rooms ...living room, library and dining room....all exceptionally appointed. I will be back!

We only stayed here one night so we could see a show at Castleton State. Nancy and Ralph are very pleasant, helpful, check-in was a breeze...and then they leave you alone (bonus points in my book!). We stayed in Hannah's Room, the inn wasn't busy (4 other people, I think), it was quiet. The bed had the most comfortable mattress I've been on in years - I slept through the night which is uncommon for this 50-somethin' year old guy! The whole bandb is super clean, really. The only downside is that we couldn't get wifi in the bedroom, only downstairs in the reading room, and with a vague cell signal staying in touch with the college kids for meal planning, etc, meant going downstairs for a few minutes. No big deal. I'd stay here again without question - and it's also just 30 seconds from Main St.

We have stayed here a few times now as our son attends Castleton State College which is just a few minutes walk from the B & B. Nancy and Ralph are so friendly and accommodating, rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean, the beds are incredibly comfortable and at breakfast there is lots to eat and it is delicious. Absolutely lovely!

We spent two nights at The Applewood Manor B & B and it could not have been better. All the rooms are very nicely appointed and our bed was very comfy. We stayed in Sarah's room on the main floor. We did have an opportunity to see all the rooms as they were available as we were there mid week.
Nancy and Ralph are wonderful people and we had a very nice chat or two with Nancy over breakfast and during our stay and Ralph cooks up wonderful breakfast's each morning.
There is a sitting room with a flat screen for tv viewing (none in the rooms but who wants that anyway), a library and a dining room with a large active cooking style fireplace. There is a pool and and a great porch for summertime stays.
The B & B is convenient to Rutland, Lake Bomoseen and is located on the edge of the picturesque town of Castleton Vt.
If you are planning to be in the area this is the place to stay!

Nancy and Ralph are very accommodating, friendly and helpful, yet not intrusive. The inn is beautifully decorated, breakfasts are delicious and the views breathtaking. Perfect location for visiting Castleton State College and close to skiing resorts. Can't wait to stay there again!

This little corner of Vermont is so charming and beautiful. It was nice to come up for the weekend from the city - so quiet and peaceful. Nancy and Ralph are such gracious hosts. I hope I can stay with them again!
