“A Charming Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

The Applewood Manor is a charming Inn .The rooms are beautifully decorated and the outdoor patios looks out at the pool and gardens and can accommodate all the guests. Nancy and Ralph were wonderful hosts that took care of any of our needs and served us a delicious breakfast.

Room Tip: Sarah's room is the smallest but there are no steps down to. the bathroom if that is an issue fo...

If your vision of a perfect B&B includes canopy beds, sumptious gourmet breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool or around the antique table with a fire burning in the 100 year old fireplace and wonderful, gracious &helpful innkeepers Nancy and Ralph seeing to your every need, than this is the place for you! A nicer place you can not find in central Vermont. Minutes to beautiful Lake Bomosseen or skiing at Killington are close by and easily accessible by major highways. This is truly a 4 season gem located in the quintessential town of Castleton Vermont. Charm, Charm, Charm!! Don't miss it if in the area.

Room Tip: For anyone unable to climb stairs, there is a first floor bedroom that is lovely!

Inn Keepers Nancy and Ralph (and Sampson the Golden Retriever) took great care of us. Applewood is right off exit 5 off Route 4 in Castleton. Applewood is surrounded by flowers and 200 year old Maple treesStayed in "Sarah's" room. Rooms named after the Hoit Family. Built in 1785 you'll feel like you've stepped back in time when you enter the guest foyer. The rest of the house was built in 1805. Breakfast ready @ 8am. Blueberry pancakes one day, eggs Benedict the next with pastries and fresh delicious coffee and juices and fresh cut roses are set out on the breakfast table. Breakfast made to order if one has different tastes.

There's a pool, a sun porch with very clean wicker chairs and a sitting area with a two person swing under an arbor that has many nice climbing plants on it. Adirondack chairs out on the lawn across the driveway from the pumpkin patch. Cumphy beds with feather pillows and an AC unit. Full bath inside a spotless bathroom. -see pics. Nice cozy sitting area with a chess set and many books to read if you want.

If the purpose of your visit is to unwind and sit in the sun and not drive around all day then stay here. One can walk to a great pizza place/deli up on Main.

Room Tip: Some rooms have his n her sink and a tub. -Sarah's room does not.

A very beautiful lodging with very friendly and helpful people taking care of us -- a wonderful experience!

This was one of the best bed and breakfasts I've ever stayed at. The setting was very pretty with lots of flowers, a classic house and a swimming pool. The inn keepers were very friendly and exceedingly helpful.

I would love to stay here again.

Sister and I loved this B&B - full of charm, beautiful living room, den, dining room - fine china and glassware, and exceptional breakfast, prepared by Ralph. Nancy is a delight. The grounds are supurb, the white wicker porch area, squeaky clean. Really enjoyed Sarah's Room, with the light colors, wing chairs, fine view. Would love to come again.

Room Tip: Sarah's is on the first floor, very handy.

We stayed at the Applewood Manor Bed & Breakfast while driving through Vermont on our trip home to Toronto from Boston. We stayed in the Noah room which was large and very elegant with a beautiful spacious bathroom.

We had a great breakfast. The grounds, entire house and pool area are absolutely gorgeous.
Nancy is a welcoming host. Highy recommend this B & B.

Room Tip: Noah room is beautiful
