This place was about only an hour to get through but the kids had fun and it was a great place for a short visit!

“great for kids of all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

It's tough to find a place that appeals to all my kids, ages 17 to 9, but this fit the bill. Hands on stuff for the younger ones and informational stuff for the older ones. There are alot of tanks with various aquatic critters and everyone liked that. What the kids loved the most was being videoes while "reporting" the weather, and then you can email it to your home. While this place was a bit pricey for a family of 6, it was worth it. If you have a membership in your museum back home, check to see if ECHO is on the list of museums with reciprocity and you can get in for free or reduced rates.

“Fun afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

The museum had interesting, hands on activities for my toddler and elm student. Was wowed by how many animals they have. Well worth trying when you have time.

“Echo Lake Aquarium and Science Center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

This was a great great place to bring my friends 11 year old while she was over at Fletcher Allen. He had endless hours of fun in here. They had very knowledgeable people all around the place who were running activities for the kids. The cost to get in here was well worth it and they allow the children to walk around by themselves if they are above a certain age while as a parent you can sit out on the beautiful deck and enjoy the view of the water. My only complaint about the place was the little restaurant in there. I bought a coffee which was in a craft. Was given a cup and when I got some it was cold. I asked for it to be microwaved and she said she didn't have one back in the kitchen. Coffee is important to me. Keep the coffee fresh for us grown-ups! Great for the kids! Highly recommend!

“Son's request”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

My son loves sea animals, aquariums and zoos; so I agreed to take him here. Given that we visited the Montshire Museum of Science just a couple days prior, this excursion left something to be desired. Both of my kids had some fun and I had an interesting conversation with a volunteer regarding differing perspectives on water use, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Of course being from Idaho it's not likely I'll be in the area any time soon.
