“Great for the Kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

Interesting, but limited exhibits. Plenty of hands on activities. Great for the under 10 set. Tweens enjoyed it to an extent.

“Echo Center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

My sister and I attended the Mother's Day Tea Party at the Echo Center. Great view of the beautiful lake and yummy food. The Alice In Wonderland exhibit was fun, would have been great to have had my little grand daughters with us. I love seeing what is in and around Lake Champlain. I always enjoy the giant fish tank!

“Not really geared for adults”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

The Lake Aquarium and Science Center is informative but not worth the hefty entrance fee. There are a number of exhibits and rooms that are geared towards children but nothing really for adults. Further there really are not a ton of animal exhibits. On the first floor there is a sturgeon tank, trout tank, and school fish tank on the first floor. The lower level also features an exhibit on the impact of pollution and feature on a ship that was wrecked at Lake Champlain. The upper level features animals local to Lake Champlain (toads, additional fish, turtles) and historic facts about the Lake. There is a lab featuring injured animals and history of the lake. There are also two rooms geared for children wishing to explore more about the Lake and a starfish exhibit/sea anemone exhibit. However there is a stunning view of Lake Champlain on the second floor and a sit down area on the first floor. ECHO also features several shows throughout the day in the Lakeview Room.

“Always a hit with the grandchildren”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

Have taken our grandchildren here several times and they always have a great time. This time there was an exhibit of Alice In Wonderland that was spectacular. The kids and wife crawled through a rabbit hole to enter (I took the door) and found numerous fun things to do including sitting at a table for afternoon tea with really cute tea set items. Many pictures of the characters along the walls and a complete hall way with the many doors that Alice had to choose from, and the actual hall gets smaller and smaller at one end. Crazy mirrors and little holes in the doors to look through. Many scientific related activities that draw on the story for an educational aspect. After that we went upstairs for a talk by a staff person about the Eastern Spiny Softshell Turtle which are abundent in the lake nearby and she had baby turtles to look at and ask questions about. Then a walk through the other lake related sections of the upstairs and that was about it for three and four year olds so we left and had lunch together elsewhere in Burlington.
