My mother and I went here with a friend of mine who had suggested it. I wasn't sure what to expect and it was a very pleasant surprise. But first - if you are thinking that you are going into the Atlanta or Boston Aquarium stop right there. This is not what it is. The ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center's aquarium focuses specifically on Lake Champlain's aquatic life and its history. On the third floor there is a small room with a film that tells the Native American version of how the lake came into existence combined with a narrative of the scientific version. It is well worth seeing. They also have a small special exhibition area on the first floor which, when I went there, had a wonderful exhibit on race. While it is certainly aimed at children with lots of interactivity, adults will learn a lot from touring the Center as well. If you have internet access then visit their website in order to get the answer to a question and a discount on admission. If you have a smartphone they have a poster with a QR code in front of the building that you can scan to get an answer but be sure to keep it active as the office staff does not necessarily tell the people at the admission desk. There is also a senior discount as well as a discount for Vermont residents that is slightly better.
