“overpriced and a bit of a let down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2010

The Queen City Ghostwalk is something we'd been meaning to do for a while. It's well-marketed and the idea is certainly intriguing. However, the October tour we participated in was a let down. There were far too many people (40-50), and there wasn't an opportunity to ask the guide questions or chit-chat along the way. Because it cost $13/person for a one hour tour, we were expecting something a bit more intimate. The stories weren't surprising or unusual, and while they seemed well-researched, they weren't spooky. It would have been nice to go into some of the places and see the rooms, etc. when possible. We probably wouldn't recommend the tour to friends. It's a shame because the idea is fantastic, but the tour is just medicore.

Our early season definitely gives us more one-on-one time with guests. As October rolls around, we begin to book up. The last three weeks leading up to Halloween are our busiest weeks of the year, with full tours and sometimes a second tour to accommodate folks who don't want to miss us on their visit to the Queen City. We do hang around after our tours for photos and questions. We're sorry you felt let down, and hope you'll try an early season tour to experience more personally the hermits, captains of industry, heroes and serial killers that have inhabited Burlington's spooky past.
