“Perfect for a relaxing getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

What an amazing place this is! I stayed here for a long weekend with my boyfriend and we didn't want to leave. The owners have done an amazing job making you feel completely at home in their guest house. It's beautifully decorated, clean and super cozy and they've thought of everything from delicious coffee and granola to bathrobes and a hair dryer in the bathroom. I've read other reviews that there is not a microwave but there was one when I stayed this past weekend. Downtown Burlington is just a quick drive or a cheap cab ride (there are buses as well!) and the house is within walking distance to Winooski's bars, restaurants and coffee shops. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

Thank you for your fabulous review. We know that you didn’t want to leave but you can always come back! There is always more to explore in the Lake Champlain Region.

This is essentially a second floor studio apt. accessed by a rear external(and open) wooden stairway. The property is located about two miles from the center of Burlington but is a stone's throw from the Winooski neighborhood. The rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. There is a full kitchen with an eating counter but does not have a microwave. There is no t.v. available. Our hosts live on the premises and were available for any questions or assistance. Given that we were only in Burlington for two nights we would have done better with a property right in the heart of things. We felt a little too far for convenience but liked the room a great deal.

We stayed in August when we dropped our daughter off for college and were very happy with our choice. The owners were very nice, the place is very beautifully decorated, and you can walk across the bridge to the stores and restaurants in Winooski. Granola in the cupbord, milk in the fridge and a coffee press for caffeine to make your own breakfast. We expect to stay there again at some point.

We typically like staying in B&B's or apartments when we travel and the Dubuque Lane Guest House is a very nice one. It is basically one large room on the second floor subtly divided into a sleeping area, a sitting area and the kitchen. It is very clean and newly finished with very comfortable furnishings--all you would need for a short stay. It is located a few minutes' drive from town but near its own neighborhood of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping, so you don't really need to drive anywhere to eat. The river nearby is beautiful and almost no traffic or other noise is noticeable. This is a great choice for a couple looking to have a small kitchen and more space to relax.

We had a couple minor surprises that did not really detract from the stay, but might be worth knowing. There is no microwave oven in the kitchen, just a small electric stove and oven. The refrigerator is roomy but a bit noisy at night--my wife was a little disturbed by it but I wasn't. There is no TV, which we didn't care about this trip, but sometimes we like to watch DVDs.

Overall this was a really nice small apartment for a short trip to Burlington that is more versatile and way more comfortable than the standard B&B or hotel. The terrific hosts Jennifer and Gregg were super nice and helpful but did not intrude at all.

We stayed at Dubuque Lane Guest House on a short trip to Burlington. We found the owners warm and welcoming but yet discreet. The location is riverside and very quiet. The room is very clean, nicely decorated and full of arts and books. Attention is paid to the food which is biologic and local. I would return to this place without hesitation.

Stay here above any other place in Burlington! All you'll get if you stay at an Inn or other B&B in Burlington is a room and bathroom. But here you essentially get an apartment! Full kitchen, living room, eating area, free wi-fi, parking right downstairs...so spacious! Jennifer and Gregg have a terrific place to offer at a great price. They were great with their suggestions in where to eat in downtown Burlington which is only a 5 minute drive away. Would definitely come back here!

We could not have been luckier to have found this secret oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. The Dubuque Lane Guest House is a true hidden luxury and far exceeds any tradition hotel or bed and breakfast accommodations. The minute you arrive at the Dubuque you get a sense of comfort and “ownership”. As you enter your private deck overlooking the eclectic and imaginative garden you realize you have already begun to breathe easier. As you go into you suite, you instantly enamored with the attention to detail and original art work. We cracked open a bottle of wine and keep it chilled in own full kitchen while we prepared a snack and sank into our deck chair. While the area had plenty to offer and we had come up for a reunion, we delighted in the chanced to return to our comfortable haven throughout the weekend. Our hosts, Jen and Gregg could not have been more inviting. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
