“Exceptional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

This was our first encounter with a B&B and I must say we were impressed. First off, the location is great. Next comes the accomadations which were faboulous! This house has amazing old charm and you can really feel the history. One thing I don't like is the fact that they pack every inch of the living room with something. But by no means does this take away from the experience. The staff were great. The breakfast was exceptional. The room was lovely. Everything about this B&B is outstanding. I would absolutely come back here if I am ever in town.

Room Tip: You can not go wrong with any of the rooms!

My fiance and I went to this bed and breakfast for a weekend away in February. We were so pleased with the Inn and the Victorian style decor. Everyone who worked there was extremely pleasant and the owner walked around and greeted his guests in the dining room. The food was delicious and the cookies were to die for! I have already mentioned this inn to my friends for future travel.

The Willard Street Inn, just off the beaten path in Burlington's downtown area, is a sophisticated b&b in a grand, old Victorian home. The renovations seem true to the era, but not over the top. The decor is very tasteful, with modern touches and amenities to keep guests happy and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but it was a great experience from check-in to check-out.
Unfortunately, we did not sign up for breakfast in time for the last seating, at 9:30, so we missed out on what appeared (from the rich aroma coming from the kitchen!) to be an amazing breakfast. The cookies left out for guests, and in our room, were wonderful—so the breakfast had to be pretty good!
Our room was very comfortable, clean, quiet. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, nice robes, nice towels and bath products, too.
I would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: The Martha's Memoirs room which has a queen bed, quiet corner location on the second floor. Stre...

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Willard St Inn this past January. It's absolutely beautiful! We stayed in The Cobblestones and it was small, but affordable and comfortable nonetheless. Our bathroom was across the hall, but it wasn't an issue since it was just for us and was tucked away in an area of the hotel where few people venture. Also, our room had a gorgeous view of the lake.

I loved the fact that they leave freshly baked cookies in your room every day, along with a batch downstairs in case you're craving a snack. The free wifi was also a great perk, as the TV in our room was rather small. But who needs TV when the best shops in Burlington are only a short walk away? The location is so convenient.

Not to mention the service was impeccable. The staff is very attentive and respectful, and welcomed us as if we were one of the family.

All in all I would definitely stay here again - preferably when it's warmer and we don't have to freeze while walking near the lake!

Room Tip: Try getting a room on the second or third floor away from the main staircase and at the corner of th...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night on a weekend trip to get a change of scenery during the seemingly endless winter. We arrived in the late evening, however there was still a friendly desk staff member there to help us check in. The room was quite spacious with a unique floorplan that made it seem that much more personal. A toasty fireplace was also a nice touch for this particular cold winter night. The homemade chocolate-chip cookies in the room didn't hurt either...

The location was convenient enough to be quiet, yet within about a mile walk to the downtown area with a lot of evening activities.

What really put it over the top was the breakfast the following morning. All the food was so fresh and locally-sourced (Vermont seems to have these concepts thoroughly covered) and they offered 3 different options along with juices and breads.

It felt exactly like staying in a rich relative's mansion with staff to wait on you and and foot.

The Willard St Inn is a fantastic little inn five-ten minutes walk from the center of Burlington. It's a beautiful old home lovingly redone with beautiful antiques. The best aspects of our stay were the delicious gourmet breakfasts and the attentiveness of the family who own and run the inn. It is obvious they enjoy their business, and were friendly and helpful. Small touches like the always open coffee and tea bar and homemade cookies only added to the experience!

My daughter and I stayed at The Willard Street Inn while visiting UVM for her music audition. It was a lovely building. We stayed in the Adirondack Room which had pretty views of the lake. While it was perfectly acceptable it seemed to lack the "warmth" of smaller B&B's. Breakfast was good and the people were very nice. The beds were comfortable although the pillows could have been "fluffier" and the sheets were scratchy. Duvets at the bottom of the beds were too heavy and room stayed overly warm at night. Bathroom was beautifully appointed but bowed shower curtain was too far away from the tub which resulted in an overly roomy shower (a little on the chilly side despite the heat of the water) and water on the floor outside the tub. I would certainly stay there again but was not "wow'd" by the place except for the architecture and the antiques. The solarium was a lovely place for breakfast but some more creativity with the food would be a welcome addition.
