“Superb in all respects”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

Stayed three nights in October with my wife on a visit from Ireland. This Inn is very tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and set in beautiful surroundings. Our host Glenn was very welcoming and produced excellent breakfasts during which we enjoyed the opportunity to chat with other guests. Hard to imagine how this wonderful Bed and Breakfast could be improved.Well worth a visit.

The RYF B&B is the ideal place to take in a true VT country experience. It is dubbed "a country retreat," and it is exactly that. A couple of things that help separate RYF from many of the others sweeping, panoramic views, and the more contemporary decor inside the home. The sense of peace and serenity one feels when stepping inside is immediately apparent. The scents of potpourri and delicious baked goods adds to the sensory overload (in a very good way!) We stayed in the Maple Sugar Room which is located on the first floor and has it's own private entrance. I choose this room again simply for its location and privacy although I would imagine it might be a little more noisy than the two upstairs, since it is close to the staircase and you can hear (but not unpleasantly so) a bit of noise from the second level. It was great to be able to take advantage of the back yard hot tub late in the evening and feel total privacy, even though it is only 50 yards from the back of the house. The breakfasts cooked by Glenn were unique and delicious, as were the sweet treats that were always available in the dining room. Glenn and Jaime have created a special place blessed with a spectacular setting. I have travelled extensively and stayed at hundreds of hotels, lodges and inns, but the RYF B&B definitely stands out as one of the very best. I definitely hope to return!

Room Tip: The Maple Sugar Room has four windows, two facing north and two west, with the north facing windows...

So once again I stayed at the Russell Young Farm B&B by myself (deliberately this time). Again, I had a great time even though the weather was only so-so. However, with several different places in the inn to read, I had a great time reading in the living room (very comfortable), having tea etc at night. I do believe that this B&B is perhaps the best place in VT to stay if you are by yourself. It's cozy - not big where you could get lost as a single person. Had a great time at breakfast both eating awesome breakfasts and talking with the other folks staying at the B&B.
If you are planning a trip to VT and want to visit the Middlebury/Burlington area - this B&B would be perfect for you.

Room Tip: They do have a bedroom on the first floor for folks that have problems climbing stairs - however, th...

My wife and I celebrated her 60th birthday, staying at Russel Young Farm and enjoying the fall foliage sites all around the area. One of the best views was from the front porch on the B & B. Spectacular! The attention to detail was first class. The breakfasts were to die for. The home is clean, homey, and warmly decorated. We would definitely return and we recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Blue Spruce Room has a great view and windows in two walls.

My husband and I were attending a wedding in the area and Russel Young Farm B&B was one of the recommended places to stay. We were thoroughly delighted with RYF. Absolutely beautiful, peaceful location. The whole house was decorated so beautifully, with warm lovely touches everywhere. Glenn and Jaime together have made a B&B that is the nicest we have ever stayed in. Our room was the Sugar Maple room, which was on the first floor, so pretty and comfortable we will ask for it again. Jaime really has a knack for decorating, Glenn gives him all the credit. Now, Glenn has a way with food, pretty much a self taught "chef", he fed us gourmet food with an easy touch!! Coconut chocolate chip cookies for snack, yum... I am going to try to make the egg nests he made for breakfast, delicious and unique. The service was lovely, the whole place was immaculate. (I made a mistake in the review area, I gave the swimming pool an excellent rating, but they don't have one. I couldn't correct it, so it will have to stay, but there is a hot tub and it was very nice). No complaints at all other than time flies way too fast and all we really would have liked to do was sit on the front porch, look out at the gorgeous view and say
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Room Tip: The room we stayed in was on the first floor and handicap accessible. My husband had been having tr...

My husband and I found this wonderful place quite by accident. We were on an unplanned tour of beautiful Vermont, and we're looking for a place to hang our hats for a couple of days. We stayed in the Blue Spruce room which had a spectacular view, but then all the rooms have that vista. The decor was second to none, and the place was spotless. Glen and Jamie were the perfect hosts, there if you needed them but invisible if you didn't, the breakfasts were interesting and delicious. We spent the first night sitting in the garden with a glass of wine, star gazing, the next day we climbed the Camels Hump, which can be seen in the distance from the Farm. We are hoping to go back in the fall, highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from it all.

I'll try not to repeat what everyone else has said - it's all true!!
We stayed in the Blue Spruce room upstairs and it was absolutely beautiful. The decor was perfect and everything was very clean! We decided on this room because I thought it would be more private but all of the rooms were very private.
I loved the common room and we enjoyed that room in the evening for a small drink.
The views of the mountains were spectacular while sitting on the porch overlooking the perennials.
Jamie and Glenn were the perfect hosts - they were very helpful when we needed them but gave us our privacy when we wanted that. I have never felt so at home at a B&B!!!
