“Wonderful Home - make a booking if you can!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

My husband, daughter and I stayed for one night on October 22nd. It was even better than the website pictures! Lynn, the owner, was charming and friendly and we found much in common. She suggested restaurants for our evening meal and we found the one we chose to be just right for our needs. Our room was the Garden Suite which accommodated us perfectly. The beds were so comfortable, the gas fire and chair beside was a firm favourite with our daughter. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels - every detail had been thought about and provided for our comfort. Pretty decorations in our room and white shutters - the view over the garden was lovely to wake up to. We managed a quick walk up to the summer house before we left. Unfortunately we did not have time to walk any trails. Breakfast was a delight - Lynn enjoys cooking - poached pear in cinnamon with a baby muffin, fresh juice and coffee followed by eggs wrapped in ham and local Grafton cheese baked in a muffin tin (yes) with swirled pumpernickel toast - amazing! We ate in the beautiful period dining room with the fire lit and the autumn holiday decorations tastefully arranged. So hard to leave - would love to return. If you need to stay in Brattleboro a stay at this home is to be desired.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are beautiful for a couple. The Garden Suite has a double sofa bed as well as the...

I loved the Crosby House...warm and welcoming and the room was perfect in every sense of the word. My only regret was that I only had one night to stay there. Lynn was lovely and kind and the perfect host.

What a wonderful property set amongst beautiful trees. The hosts are fantastic and make you feel extremely welcome. Breakfast was fantastic! The room we had was spacious and the bed comfortable.
The B&B is a good walk down to the restaurants and shops but well worth it. Highly recommend this property!

My mother stayed at 1868 Crosby House, and loved every moment of her time at this fabulous B&B. She enjoyed meeting and visiting with Lynn, the proprietor. The breakfasts were delicious, and the dining areas were beautifully decorated. The room and bath were spotlessly clean, and the bed very comfortable. Lynn helped us with directions, a map, and other recommendations for activities. The gardens are lovely, and there are miles of hiking trails right off of the backyard.

Room Tip: The upstairs apartments are private, with a separate living area from the bedroom, and a mini fridge...

We only stayed at the Crosby House for one night but found the accommodations very nice. The gardens trails out back looked lovely. Unfortunately it was pouring rain the morning we had hoped to experience this landscape.

The walk into town was perfect (15-20 minutes). Great way to work off your yummy dinner at the Fireworks.

I found our room to be a bit smaller than we expected from the photos, especially the bathroom area. So if we had stayed for a few nights, we would have preferred a larger space.

Lynn worked with both my boyfriend and I to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Just let her know in advance and she will have a lovely breakfast prepared to meet your needs.

Lynn really understands customer service. From the moment I called the hotel to inquire about availability. . . . . to our departure. . . .she is all about making her customers feel valued and cared for. At the same time, she "gets" giving customers space; allowing them to find their own way and come to her with more detailed questions. I really appreciated this.

I would recommend the Crosby House.

As part of our holiday we spent 2 nights at the Crosby House, we were greeted on arrival with a friendly smile and warm Vermont welcome. Our room had style (Rose room) and in keeping with the house. We took the operationally to explore the garden with was wonderful. Lynn the hostess informed us we could bring back food and wine to enjoy at the house. which we did so, which felt like we were at home. Lynn also recommended local restaurants which we took advantage of, all were very good. Lynn also guided us to places to visit and explore. The breakfasts were first class none that we have had before.

Lynn from the 1868 Crosby House in Brattleboro, VT was a large part of making our wedding day perfect. Right from the beginning, she helped us with our plans for the big day, working with us to create a basic itinerary, walking us through the house and gardens so that we had a clear picture of what our wedding could be, and making herself available to answer any questions we had. On our day, she could not possibly have been more helpful, more kind, or more polite. The house was beautiful, the gardens a perfect setting for a fall wedding. We had many guests praise our choice of venue, and it was all due to Lynn's help. To top it all off, the price was completely reasonable (we would have paid much more for the same service somewhere else). On the day of our wedding, Lynn was there to help set up, even helping the caterer set up and break down the food and dishes. She was available for absolutely everything we could have possibly needed, making our day beautiful and perfect. Lynn also took surprised us with some wonderful pictures she had taken which she sent to us only a day or two after wedding. In short, Lynn and the house were warm, comforting, welcoming, and just overall sweet and lovely. Thank you so much Lynn, for your hard work and for making the Crosby House such a wonderful place for a wedding.
