“Cheap, clean and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2006

We adore this place. It's a motel, sure, but you really get your money's worth - the rooms are clean, the motel staff is extremely nice and helpful, and the place even has a clean little pool. We had one problem with the shower leaking out onto the bathroom floor, but everything else made up for it.

Prices in southern Vermont on Columbus Day weekend are very high. The EconoLodge is convenient to the highway. Not a particularly good value. Very small room. Even tinier bathroom. Next time we would pay a bit more for something nicer however.

  • Liked — Availability. We were able to book a room several weeks in advance, when everything else was booked.
  • Disliked — Noisy, small, tiny, run-down bathroom.

The room was nice but, it is on a main highway out front and directly behind you is a shopping mall. There is no fence seperating the mall and hotel. All you hear is car doors opening and shutting all night long and the traffic in and out. It's difficult to book online when they just show the front of the hotels. You tend to go with what you see. As far as the continental breakfast goes; there are 2 tables with 2 chairs each and it's right as you walk into the front door of the hotel. It's not pretty at all. The pool looked very nice. Overall; if you don't mind traffic and you're a heavy sleeper you may enjoy your stay. I wouldn't say it's a place to stay with children because of the traffic.

Very affordable, clean place to stay. The frig, microwave, coffee maker and ironing board are very useful!! Millenium Pizza down the street is excellent!

We stayed here twice on the beginning and end of a larger road trip. The rooms were small, but immaculately maintained. The motel must have been redone very recently- new, large TV, refrigerator/ freezer, microwave in all the rooms. The pool was clean, large, and a pleasure to be in after a hot day in town. The parking was especially convenient- right outside the room. The continental breakfast was certainly above-average for a budget motel- even including a "make-your-own" waffle station.

The management was courteous and attentive. The motel is in a great location- close to I-91, a Price Chopper supermarket next-door, and only a quick ride to downtown. The most outstanding thing about this motel was the price- around $60/ night during the week and $70 on the weekends.

Spent two nights here at the end of June and thought the Econo Lodge was a good place to stay for a fair price. The rooms were clean, the staff was very courteous and the grounds were well maintained. The location is close to the freeway but there was no noise. I'd stay again, if I am back in the area.

stayed 2 nites: oct 11. large room with 2 good double beds, recently refurbished, but stairs only to 2nd floor. internet in lobby for free, wireless is being installed this Winter they said. pool wasn't heated so couldn't use ( outside ). near downtown. liked Food Co op for groceries, and great meals that were tasty/resonable, near hotel. many book stores in town, Amy's bakery on Main Street very good. supermarket also next door to motel. contentinental breakfast was so so, we instead enjoyed a cooked breakast in town or @ Amy's, many choices.
