“Just so-so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2011

While visiting Brattleboro, we were referred to this restaurant over another steak type place and we were kind of let down. The rustic atmosphere was great and so was the service, however the food was just ok but not good enough for the price. If ever in the area again, we probably would not go back. Again, not awful just not great.

“pleasant experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2011

Me and my step sister and my mom went to the New England House for Dinner on a Saturday night we had to wait fifteen minutes as did another couple who had resvervations however apperntly another couple who had reservastions were seated at once which was odd but oh well. Our Waitress was really nice however the place was busy and it seemed to take while for our food and refills on our drinks however it wasn't that bad and I would like to go back. The Food was decent and there was alot of family's there so it had a nice atmosphere.

“Great steak, relaxed local atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2011

We visited the New England House on a Wednesday evening and sat in the bar in front of a roaring open fire next to a low bar brimming with jovial locals. Steaks were great, especially the ribeye which was juicy and drenched in a super tasty mushroom sauce.

“Nice find on a rainy day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2010

Sat by the fireplace in the pub of this casual restaurant. The food was quite good and plentiful. Large portions were served with a salad as well. Very reasonable prices.

“Really delicious lobster dish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2010

The decor is pleasant but sort of cutesy; the salad was OK but I've had better. But the
lobster mac and cheese....OMG!!! Not being from New England, I was eager to try lobster in various preparations since I rarely eat it at home. The lobster mac and cheese at this restaurant was the best lobster meal of the three I enjoyed during my week in New England - and all three were excellent! Really fantastic! The service was friendly and I really enjoyed my dinner here.
