We had a wonderful time in our visit to Southwestern Vermont, thanks to Patti, our extraordinary hostess. The house itself was beautiful and our room so comfortable and cheery. But Patti not only served us delicious treats and a fantastic gourmet breakfast, but she helped us to discover what a treasure the peaceful little town of North Bennington is. It is quiet, but near a wonderful lake with places to swim. A few steps from the B&B is an extraordinary restaurant (Pangaea) (with a little bar which is a great place for late night get togethers or just extraordinary desserts. There are also other excellent family restaurants within easy walking distance, sculptures, a preserved mansion. Patti also suggested a great route to follow the next day to explore the countryside, complete with suggestions of places to stop and eat. We were so lucky to find this place and highly recommend it to others. The Eddington House has some fun packages -- we chose one that included dinner at the Pangaea and locally made chocolates in our room.
