“Recommend Highly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

I recommend the Twin City Motel to travelers in the Montpelier, VT area. It is neat and clean with a good feeling from the attentive onsite owners. This is not a fancy place nor is it in a scenic location. But the room was quite serviceable for a couple. The bed was comfortable, the lighting good, and the TV a new HD flatscreen and plenty of channels to choose from, enough outlets for two laptops and two phone chargers. Good, strong shower, too.

Small refrigerator and microwave oven were both helpful for storing than heating the leftovers we brought back from the nearby Wayside Diner ( a classic American diner that is not to be missed and only a minute away from the motel).

The rooms on both sides of ours were occupied but did not hear our neighbors and, presumably they didn't hear us.

Only negative in our experience was not getting strong wifi signal in our room. Had to step outside to go online, but that was okay, as bench right outside the door was comfortable and signal there was strong.

It's a classic american motel from the era when motels were not owned by national chains.

The owner was very friendly. He even lent me a mug when I wanted to make tea.
The room was spotless, comfortable and had all the amenities: microwave, flat-screen tv, etc. WiFi signal was a bit weak, but worked fine. The bathroom was small and plasticky, but it was not a problem for me.

PS For breakfast go to Skinny Pancake in Montpelier, you won't regret it!

Where to start?!
My husband and I went skiing at Stowe, Smugglers and Bolten and decided to stay in the central VT area. We are glad we choose this motel - it is very neat and clean. The beds are comfortable - just like home - must be new mattresses. Rooms are updated with flat screen tvs, microwaves and mini refrigerators. Rooms also have desks and nice recliners. Carpet also appeared to be new. Bathroom was spotless. We are particular when it comes to cleanliness and this motel far exceeded our expectations. There are many restaurants in the area as well as day spas and fitness clubs. Coffee in the morning was a nice surprise! The owners of this property have operated it for 37+ years and take great pride in what they do - it certainly shows! Their property is immaculate. I would highly recommend this place to anyone for business or leisure.

Twin City Motel has the cleanest rooms ever! The new thick carpets invite your barefeet to feel totally at home! The bathrooms are ever so neat!

The new mattresses make you feel like you are at home away from home!

The rooms have been decorated with exquisite taste. Nice large flat tv screens with cable make for a comfy evening.

The owners, Rejean & Donna are the ultimate hosts. So accomodating, and so friendly!

We have stayed at the Twin City Motel for many years, and intend to continue to do so! We would recommend this charming, reasonnable country place to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing room!

We are two very satisfied customers from Hudson, FL P & P

We stopped here for one night on a weekend and found it to be an average motel, nothing special. The rooms arent very big and the bathroom was quite tiny. There isnt much room to maneuver in there either. The place must have been built with some weird standard back in the day for it to be built so small.

We really felt like the rooms could have used a better cleaning than they appear to get and seeing cobwebs doesnt make one feel too confident. We'll look around for a better place since we are coming to the area at least once a month now.

I had to sit and think about Twin City Motel for a while. It is a very clean place and I did enjoy it, however, its an old motel and the rooms are very small. The bathroom is extremely small and built for a family of small people. It was hard to move around in the room and bathroom.

I did not find any dishes or silverware to use which was a big surprise. Its hard to cook anything when there are no cooking pots and pans provided. No one carries these things with them and when getting a room with a stove/kitchenette, you do expect those things to be provided.

The Motel was satisfactory but way too small and I probably would not stay there again.
