While traveling through Vernal, my wife & I were looking for a change from the usual fast food lunch. We were pleased to find the Backdoor Grille, at first which appears to be an afterthought at the back of an interesting bookshop. We ordered our soup and sandwiches at a counter and seated ourselves at one of a few tables near a wall of shelved books. Our lunches were served after a bit of a wait. I enjoyed a bowl of delicious clam chowder and my wife had a cup of tomato bisque and a turkey sandwich. The two ladies operating the shop were friendly and maybe a bit too casual in that the turkey sandwich came with the horseradish mayo after we specifically asked that it be held. It was delicious anyway, so not a problem in the end. Street parking was not a problem, but it's also possible to park behind and use the back door of this aptly named establishment.
