“Cute, clean and unique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2007

We stayed here while we were in the area seeing Bryce Canyon. These cabins were truly perfect for us and provided a wonderful escape. They are very well appointed with a tv, microwave, fridge, hair dryer, nice linens, coffee maker. They are clean and comfortable. There are 2 chairs on the front porch f each cabin and we enjoyed sitting out there enjoying the view. We also had a bbq (charcoal) so we went to the local grocery store and gathered what we needed to have a bbq one night. It was so much fun! They had an outdoor rustic table where we sat down, enjoyed the view and had a great dinner.

There is a pizza place down the street which was good. I know there were one or 2 other dining options as well.

We did stop in at Ruby's Inn. I would not want to stay there. So busy and overrun with tourists. Bryce Country Cabins really provided a getaway for us.

The farm is small but they have a buffalo, horses, llamas, chickens, a peacock that comes by every day, a donkey and there are a couple of friendly kitties that my kids loved.

The owners were so very nice. The man of the house came out as we were admiring the animals and let our son ride a true cowboy horse! He also showed us 2 day old puppies which sent the kids over the moon. He spent 20 minutes talking to us and was a very nice guy.

I would love to go back. We talk about this place all the time. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed here because it was a 10 minute drive to Bryce Canyon and it seemed more quaint than the tour bus haven, Ruby's Inn. The property consists of 6 separate little pre-fab log cabins all in a row. They are very clean with TV, heat, air, but no internet access. Also the bathroom was only a shower stall and no bath. The "farm" they advertised in the brochure was in pretty poor shape - basically a mess and rundown. However, that didn't stop our 8 year old from thoroughly enjoying the cows, buffallo, donkey, cats, dogs, lamas and many chickens and roosters all right next to the cabins. There was also a trampoline available. Since it was before Memorial Day, there was no where in town that served breakfast, but there was a choice of two decent restaurants for dinner, and we could walk to both. The "downtown" of Hatch is only about 5 blocks long.

  • Liked — The isolation from crowds and cuteness of the log cabin
  • Disliked — no bath and no internet

The cabins were nice and clean. Everything was just as promised. I really liked the owner, it was so interesting to talk to a lifelong resident of the area and hear a little about his farm. Tropic is a pretty quiet town and doesn't have many dining choices. we ended up at the pizza place for dinner and were treated very nicely and the food was good. Very handy for Bryce, which was amazing.

Stayed here two nights while visitng Bryce Canyon National Park. The cabins were very nice, but it was a little drive to the park. Only about 10 miles, but on single lane curvy mountain roads. If we go back, I would definitely stay in the park at the lodge. The cabins were located on the main highway in Tropic, a very small town with limited places to eat. The office was not open most of the time we were there. When it was I was able to get a bag of ice from the office refrigerator. Be advised there is not a great selection of hotels and restaurants in this area. The park was wonderful, outstanding and very unique views.

  • Liked — Very clean cabin
  • Disliked — No amenities at all
  • Tips/Secrets — Reminder it is still a drive to the park

My husband and I stayed there in Sept. 2006. The cabin was relatively new, a nice size and very clean. The view from the back was outstanding. The bath floor needed to be replaced. When you walked on it you sank down and it squeaked. We both got a chuckel out of this.

Ruby's Inn is closer to the park, and would also make be a nice place to stay. There are also other cabin themed places to stay nearby. I didn't know about them when I booked.

There are two restaurants closeby. Food and price were fine.

Basically, it is a good place to stay for the money, and closer to the park than most. I definately would consider staying there again.

  • Liked — the size of the cabin
  • Disliked — no onsite restaurant
  • Tips/Secrets — do your homework and book early, I booked in Mar. for Sept. and had problems
