“An outstanding B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

I generally avoid B&Bs (we Brits generally associate them with dives in Blackpool and owners who think you’re a member of the family) but the Bryce Trails has made me re-think that prejudice. This is an extremely well run and immaculate place to stay. The manager is friendly and helpful and the room feels like a top-class boutique hotel. The breakfast was excellent and worthy of the glowing reviews it gets.

Simply one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and according to the guest book, people who discover this place return year after year from all over the world.

We really liked this place and particularly liked Matt, the manager. He was welcoming, very friendly and helpful and cooked fabulous breakfasts. All guests seemed very happy with this place, the atmosphere at breakfast was great, very friendly and chatty. Well located for Bryce Canyon, only about 20 mins away, but there is very little in Tropic, a couple of modest restaurants and a coffee bar, that is it. Probably the best accommodation of our whole trip to the USA this year - well done, Matt, great to meet you!

Bryce Trails B&B provided us clean, ample accommodations and interesting breakfasts. The down side is Matt, the proprietor. He offered little information about the park, hikes or activities. He seemed unenthused about that beautiful area of the country referring to it as "the middle of no where." The best part of staying at a small B&B, typically, is learning the ins &outs of the area from the host.

Stayed 3 nights as base for visiting Bryce Canyon (which is beautiful). About 30 minutes from the entrance. Located in Tropic - not the easiest B and B to find - would be helpful to have clear directions when booking. Room comfortable - no coffee or tea provided, guest fridge available. Breakfast - set menu at 0800 hours - no alternative offered - large portions of American style breakfast - (not catered fro European tastes). Tropic is on Scenic Highway 12. No decent restaurants in area but we were there for the scenery not gourmet dining - Subway sufficed. We have stayed in a number of B and B's in the US and this was our least favourite. Good location for Bryce and Red Canyon, but if you also want to do Zion and Grand Canyon would suggest consider staying in Kanab and travelling to each.

Bryce Trails stands apart from most lodgings in the Bryce Canyon area, in both location and accommodations offered. This quiet spot on the outskirts of Tropic, afforded mountain views and quiet nights. Each morning, over a freshly prepared breakfast, we exchanged travel experiences and recommendations with the other guests. Our room, Under The Rim, included a large sitting area with views of the sunset. Our innkeeper Matt directed us to a secluded entrance to Bryce Canyon just two miles down the road from the Inn. It's a great way to enjoy the trails without driving seven miles to the main entrance. A great experience!

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Bryce. Our room was nice, the beds were comfortable, the view/setting was better than any of the options closer to the park, the room was clean and nicely serviced, and the homemade breakfast (served at 8am) was delicious. The innkeeper (Matt) was helpful and friendly. The one improvement I would suggest is to add a coffeemaker&coffee to the guest rooms.

Picked this place at random on the web, and was very positively surprised! Spacious cosy rooms, great view on the mountains, and the owner Matt is a really nice guy. Definitely recommended! Plus there is a really lovely restaurant down the road, which makes great dinner! (And lots of it)
