“You must be healthy for the long uphill walk”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Bring some bottled water. Trust me, you will be very thristy if you climb in the summer time. It is a very steep climb, but beautiful. Once you get inside the wonderful cool caves you will be glad you climbed the mountain!

“It's strenuous, but worth it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

The trail from Aspen Grove is steeper than the trail from Timpooneke, so it's a bit more difficult, but either or both are great hikes. I think the Timpooneke side is slightly more scenic and green, but either way is great, and the views are spectacular. I've been six or seven times; you should go at least once.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

This is a bit of a hike if you are not in good shape. Well worth it. Take lots of water and take advantage of any restrooms along the way ladies. A must see if you are here in the summer. Bring a hat and sunscreen.

“Nature's Grandure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

The views - always in UT, it is the view - are worth the climb. The trip into the cave is fascinating. If you've ever asked yourself how the landscape came to be, you will get some answers here. It is mind bending to see how the stratus lines show the shift of over 100 feet as the earth's crust shifted up. As I've gotten too old to make the climb, I can replay in my mind the beauty of it all. Makes for a great memory.

“Gorgeous area, especially in late spring.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

If you take/make at least one hike in Northern Utah, then you will want to add this on your list. There are a few trails which lead you from one side to the other of the Timp area, but be prepared for a long day and be prepared for all sorts of situations. Higher trails are for the more experienced hikers, but not necessarily avid/professional. Trails can be crowded in the early fall.
