“Home Run!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

I can see why Mr. Redford fell in love with this place in the 1960s. Amazing views and unbelievable country, but this was just the half of it. The cottage we stayed in was perfect, great deck with a view that overlooked the resort with pine trees that seemed to never end. The room had a great cabin feel that made our stay feel very natural. The hardest part of the trip was wanting to get out of the bed in the morning. The staff was awesome, they made dinner reservations for us, drove us to our cottage and even gave us recommendations on which Robert Redford film we should watch that night (they are free at the front desk). I can't wait to book our next trip to Sundance Resort.

Room Tip: Any room is great, it's a win win for everyone.

stayed at the Sundance resort for 5 days during a business training course. Mixed enough work with fun - chairlift ride, fly fishing, hiking and bbq. Accommodations are spread though out the resort and my condo was up the hill from the main buildings (Mandan section). You can walk or get a ride to your unit from the bell staff. Rustically decorated 1br unit with everything I needed and more. Staff are well trained and attentive, food provided during meetings far exceeded my expectations. Onsite restaurants, outfitters, gift shop, craft studios and event spaces make it a self contained place to visit - good thing because there isn't much nearby. Looks like a great small ski area with challenging terrain.

We spent two nights here in late May en route from Oregon back to our home in Texas. It's a fun spot to visit, but we were not blown away by the accommodations. We stayed in a mountain cottage and found it weirdly configured, with lots of wasted space (the loft, which was only accessible by a ladder, for ex.). The fireplace smoked up the room too much to use, which could have been avoided if they had built the fireplace on an outside wall. The balcony was small and was said to overlook a mountain, but in reality it overlooked a bunch of pine trees.
Having said all that, the food was good, especially at the Tree House. We enjoyed a tremendous dinner there--creative menu, great wine list, and wonderful preparation. Kudos to the chef!!!
I'm sure our experience overall would have been better if the weather had cooperated (cold and rainy) so that we could take the tram and hike down. My advice: if you get a deal on a room, check it out!

Sundance is a very special place that blends nature, recreation, cuisine, hospitality and comfort. The resort consistently generates wonderful memories for my family and I in all seasons. We are always very grateful for the time that we get to spend together at Sundance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sundance. The staff is/was friendly, professional and spoiled us rotten. The resort is absolutely beautiful, a real feast for the senses and the food, just perfect. We stayed in a studio, which was perfect for us. It is a cozy, very comfortable room complete with a gas fireplace. It was a little too warm for a fire but I am sure it's perfect in the cooler months. I took advantage of the spa...transcendent, and took a pottery class which was a great time. I would recommend Sundance and I would (and hopefully will) return in a heartbeat.

What a place . Amazing views , and a very quiet mountain resort ...but with a good bar and restaurants on site . The decor is fab ..American , rustic , with lots of Robert Redford influence ...
Environmentally very green .

Room Tip: The rooms are fab ... Cottages in the woods ...

We cannnot give enough compliments about this property. Upon arrival the staff was truly inviting and was nice enough to give an upgrade. The suite was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Dinner in the Tree Room was delicious and intimate. The grounds were just stunning and we could have walked around for hours just admiring everything. We will definately be back to enjoy more of the facility as we only had the overnight to stay.
