“Amazing structure built from scratch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

I was amazed and impressed as I heard the story of how this building was created by people who were just getting the community of St. George established. It is a real testament to the caliber of individuals who chose to live there. There are tour guides who are happy to explain the history. Remember to ask about the spiral stairs and the balcony. Mitt Romney's ancestor was the superintendent of construction, and built the stairs. They are beautiful. When you consider what these people had to work with, this is a monument built from scratch, miraculously from materials found in the area, except the glass for the windows. That is another story you have to ask about. I left this place feeling inspired and encouraged about how much people can accomplish when they work hard, with great devotion to God and Christ. That was impressive. You just have to jump off of I-15 at either the boulevard or the bluff street exits. The tabernacle is right in the middle of the town.

“Awesome architecture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

The architecture of this building is definitely worth the trip and it's free to enter and look. There are musical programs on weekends that are very professionally done.

“Very Interesting”

The free tours here are great. You learn a lot about the early settlers and the construction of the Tabernacle. Most industrious people.

“Beautiful Building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Nice stop. The tours are all guided but free. Tours are provided by church members. Ours was pleasant and well versed on the history. Some guides are pretty pushy religiously at some Mormon sites. This guide was not. When we said we were not interested in the religious aspects, she dropped it.
It was built by importing all the wood and glass over vast wilderness, a pretty impressive feat

“Interesting if you have 30 minutes to kill”

Basically a meeting place, it is interesting for a short visit for its interior woodwork/architecture.
