“The best of the chains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2006

My partner and I recently stayed here for one night, if for no other reason than we wanted to break up the drive between Moab and Las Vegas, where our return flight would leave. We didn't have high hopes for either St. George or the hotel, but we couldn't have been more wrong on either account. First, the Hampton: We were greeted very courteously and professionally, and I was so impressed when the clerk went to hand us the card-key to our room, saw that someone was standing nearby, and instead of blurting out our room number like they usually do, wrote it down on the envelope, turned it upside-down, and discreetly handed it to us without an utterance. Now this, clearly, was someone who had been trained well in the finer points of hotel management. Our room was very nice -- clean and spacious -- and the pools, whirlpools and other facilities at the hotel were quite nice, too. The continental breakfast was good, too, but I would recommend going early to avoid the crush. This was easily the best stay we've ever had at a chain hotel. As for St. George, we had a wonderful dinner at the Painted Pony restaurant in town, a real culinary oasis. And the town was only a 40-minute drive to the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park, where we had one of the best hikes of our trip, leaving us aesthetically and spiritually nurtured for our trip back home. Funny, but now we're talking about St. George as a possible retirement location!

Stayed one night at the Hampton Inn. We were there on business. It was perfect. Right in the middle of shopping and restaurants. We had free wireless Internet in our room. Excellent front desk staff. The room was large and comfortable. It even had a very comfy chair with ottoman, and a nice lap desk provided. I enjoyed using it with my laptop and the very fast wireless Internet connection. Great selection of in-room movies. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

The price was great. It does have a free hot breakfast. I would recommend going right when it starts. We were disappointed that they did not refill the muffins, doughnuts, etc after they ran out. It was very crowded as well. But still an above average free breakfast.

Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay in the heart of St George.

This hotel is in a great location, its a standard Hampton Inn. The only problem is that when I got to my room, I couldn't use the wireless connection. I had to go to the lobby. With the amount of work I do, I need a good connection so don't stay here if you are on business. If it is a pleasure trip, you couldn't ask for a better place!

I travel from Canada to this Hampton Inn to do business with a customer in St George.
Always clean and most of the time friendly service. There is a printable coupon on the St george Chamber of commerce website that will get you a better rate on evenings between Sunday and Wednesday.

Stayed for 2 nights on a golf trip. About a 2 hour drive from Vegas. Very scenic mountain and desert views after you cross into the Arizona/Utah part of the highway. The St. George area is a mountain/desert terrain. I"m from the flat state of Florida, so I was quite impressed with the surroundings. Resturants are plentiful and reasonably priced.

Used the Hampton to book 2 rounds of golf and got a nice discount. Played Entrada and Sunbrook. Entrada is trying to become a ritzy country club and had a nice desert and lava rock layout, but I prefered the massive elevation and varied terrain of Sunbrook much more (a few bucks cheaper as well). Golf is much nicer and more affordable in St George than in Vegas.

Hampton itself was clean and modern with the ususal coffee/donuts for breakfast. The beds were quite comfortable and the pillows fluffy. They have free high speed internet for your laptop, so that was a plus. I'd definately stay here again. No problems at all.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in St. George with family for one night on our way to the National Parks. It is approximately 2 hours from Las Vegas and right off of interstate 15. There are plenty of places to eat and a Target just down the street. The hotel is that standard Hampton Inn style with clean rooms and a great breakfast. Had a very pleasant stay. Would recommed this hotel if you are staying in St. George. The rate is average for a hotel in this area but probably cheaper than Hampton Inn's in other areas.

This hotel was a great place to stay. Arrived in Vegas in the afternoon and drove to St George to spend one night before heading to Bryce. This hotel had a good breaksfast bar and was near the interstate. It is about a 2 hour drive from Vegas.
