Nice hotel for the money spent. Great location within Park City. Convenient to grocery, bus stop and restaurants. Will be very nice when the renovation is done. Good staff and restaurant for breakfast.

Given the reasonable rates it is a great choice. It is right on the bus line and easy to get to the lifts and to town. It is not the Ritz but clean and comfortable. The front desk staff is not especially knowledgeable about anything. Housekeeping is very accommodating and very helpful in providing an extra chair for the room, a humidifier, and extra towels. The supermarket is a few feet out the back door as is UPS to use for shipping skis home.

Only one room has a kitchenette, some have mini refrig and microwave. Other just have a mini refrigerator. The money that you save on the room will allow you to eat at the great, great restaurants in Park City. The hotel has a bar, Starbucks in the AM, and a restaurant on premise. Free wi-fi in the room with excellent service.

Room Tip: Choose an inside room. Other rooms are on the road and parking lots that are noisy with traffic and...

We often travel to Park City and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had! The front desk agent was so rude and purposefully irresponsible that it ruined our night. We had made our reservation around 9pm and attempted to check-in at 1am. First, he could not find our reservation. Then, he found it and said that the fax had just arrived 5 minutes prior so he would need to enter it into the system. He had clearly been sleeping in the back room and was upset that we had disturbed him while he collected an hourly wage. After waiting for 15 minutes for him to enter our reservation I began to wonder what he was really doing. It turned out that he was just standing in the same spot, in front of the keyboard, entering the exact same number in over and over again. I decided to call the booking company we had used for the hotel. They decided to call him to figure it out and he immediately put them on hold.

After an entire hour, he finally entered our information in. The entire time, whenever we would ask him what was going on he would give us an unacceptably rude response.
He only did so because the hotel booking agent repeatedly called and put pressure on him to complete it, but it doesn't end here.

Daniel finally gave us a room key, but it was for a room that was occupied! We walked into a sleeping couples room! Can you imagine how they felt? When I went back to the front desk infuriated, he made it seem like we had made a mistake. During this time another customer walked up and he spoke so rudely to the individual that I had to ask if he was having a bad night. He said that he was not and that it was not his intention to give us problems.

After an additional hour of waiting and rude remarks all the while, we finally had our room. It took over 2 hours to check-in. We reported him to the General Manager, who turned out to be the head chef and did not know how to handle the situation.

Park City is an amazing place with many great hotels. Please select a different hotel as this one is just terribly bad. Bad service, untrained employees, and a clear disregard for customer care are unacceptable for any Park City hotel.

Dear Guest,
Please let me apologize for the poor customer service provided by our staff member. I left you a voicemail with my contact info yesterday. I would like to discuss this with you over the telephone. Hotel Yarrow and Conference Center will not tolerate this level of service and we would like you to rest assured that we will take necessary steps in resolving this incident. As you can see from many guest reviews, we foster good spirit and exceptional service. It is truly disheartening to learn about your experience. I hope you will give us another chance to prove that our service is exceptional. Thank you again for reviewing us on the Tripadvisor and I sincerely hope that I will get that phone call returned.
Respectfully,
Andreo Girardi

Stayed here two nights last week. Lets be honest I booked the hotel because of the rates and was not expecting anything more than a room over our heads. That is all we got. The location is great and the rates are ok but it needs a serious make over. You can walk to the grocery stores and it is right on all the bus routes but the sheets and towels have a slight color and smell to them and I could smell the pool from a hundred yards away,.

Room Tip: Don't get a room near the pool Heavy chemical smell.

Hi Roy,

Thank you for reviewing us on the Tripadvisor site. We take chemical measurements at the pool and hot tub multiple times per day. To assure that this is done properly, I inspect the records at least twice per week. We are managing our chemical balance according to the state requirements. I am sorry if the smell of chlorine affected your experience at pool or spa. You liked our rates? We try price us reasonably. As you suggested, our make over is on the way. I hope next time you are in Park City you will come to check us out as we will look different.
Thank you,
Andreo Girardi

We stayed here for Sundance 2014, and the location near the Yarrow/Fresh Market shuttle stop really can't be beat. The staff are all very friendly, and the concierge was helpful.
That being said, we still paid a prime-time rate for our stay, and encountered sub-standard lodging. The furnishings and linens were all tired; and we had trouble getting in sync with the "eco-friendly" linen policy (every night, we returned to a different assortment of towels, no matter what we hung up on the rack.) On our first two mornings, we had limited hot water, perhaps due to exceptional demand from festival goers?
With renovations in the works, this will become a fantastic place to stay for Sundance and nearby Park City Mountain; we just hope the improvements will include a modern hot-water system, too!

Room Tip: Ask for the second floor. You'll feel a bit more secure.

Dear Katie,
It seems that our staff did not miss one opportunity to talk about upcoming remodeling. That is great. We are all very excited to see improvements. Sorry to hear about the hot water limited supply. The circulating pump that caused this was replaced as soon as we could get the replacement part. I am sorry it affected your stay. We try very hard to protect our nature and limit our footprint. It is obvious that we had hard time in executing our own eco initiative. I am happy to inform you that we are in the process of instituting our eco committee that will be in charge of our ecological initiatives.
Warm Regards,
Andreo Girardi

This is my second time staying at the Yarrow Hotel during the Sundance Film Festival. The beds were clean and comfortable, there is a fridge in the room, which is always helpful. Yes the Hotel may be a bit outdated, but during the festival, they do have a State of the Art Cinema. So what if the surroundings are a bit old - but I must say I do find the layout of the hotel a bit confusing, you can walk and walk and never find your room. But still, the staff were friendly, and a LOT of people go through that place during the festival. I found the room at a great rate on Priceline by booking in advance. It is next door to the grocery store and also near a bus stop. It is one of the "go to" accomodations of the festival. See you there next year.

I'd been through the Yarrow on previous trips to the Sundance Film Festival, as there is a festival screening venue in the hotel, and it's location makes its bar and lobby a popular spot to meet up. So this year I decided to stay there this year and it turned out great. Yes, it's outdated, but the 80's ski lodge vibe was kind of charming - and the staff was sure to make it known that there is an update coming so by this time next year it should be more up to date. For my purposes, again, it was a good spot to stay - easy access to the P&I screening area and of course the Yarrow screen, as well as a quick trip to any of the other venues via shuttle bus. The location is perfect. The breakfast buffet was steady (most important meal of the day) and I also had room service one night - a very pricy, but tasty steak. Oh did I say pricy? There was nothing cheap about this stay, but thats to be expected, I suppose. Also, the Wi-Fi was pretty weak, which was frustrating when running back to the room and trying to cram in a couple of hours of work.

These complaints aside, if you are attending Sundance and want the perfect location this is it, so if you have the budget, I would recommend it.
