“Nice night in Park City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

My company had a holiday party in Park City, and because of the snow storm I knew that I would not want to drive home that night. I found an inexpensive deal for the Yarrow online ($55 for the night at KSL.com, normally a night would be over $100) and used that voucher.

The hotel is clean and more than I would ever expect for a $55 room. However, had I spent the full price I would have wanted a little more. Keep in mind, this is not a 5 star hotel. Definitely mid-level in every way, which is more than fine with me and my wife for a simple night over.

We also ate at the restaurant for breakfast and it was fantastic. Absolutely worth the money.

Considering all the options in Park City, this is right in line for price and quality of the room; and a better room than you would expect for the price of a night with any discounts.

Room Tip: Even though the normal price of the room is just about right for the quality, check ksl.com before b...

The hotel was clean and quiet. We weren't there for only 1 night but it seemed very good. It is a little dated but the rooms were nice and pleasant. It was nice to step out on the small deck and enjoy the sunset against the mountains.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for finding time to write this review at the Tripadvisor page. We are glad you noticed cleanliness of the hotel as our Housekeeping department works hard to achieve that. The sunsets here can be stunning and it seems that you were able to be at the right place in the right time. We hope to see you again at Yarrow hotel.

We have stayed at the Yarrow several times, but only for a night or two. This visit was for six nights and either things have changed drastically for the worse or we simply got more time to see the problems. Checkin took more than an hour. We arrived as part of a group and they could not figure out how to check us in. We arrived in our room to find the sink full of black gunk, like the drain had been plunged and then they left without cleaning up. They kindly moved us to a much nicer room. When we arrived there was a room service tray on the floor outside a room and it was not removed for three days. On day five the hair dryer stopped working I called up front for a hairdryer and it never arrived. Service in the Mountain Grill was terrible. Several people seated themselves and eventually left after being ignored. We were just talking with friends while we waited close to 30 minutes before a waiter acknowledged our presence. The response to every gentle complaint was literally a blank non-response almost as if trained to respond that way. An employee told us that there had been a recent mass firing. The response from everybody except, James and Ivan, was lackadaisical. I asked for the GM and was told he was out of town until Wednesday, which may explain a lot.

Room Tip: There are two deluxe suites, which don't cost that much more than a standard room.

The hotel is clean, but dated. Has no bellman, no valet and only one person working the desk normally. ATM machine in lobby was broken when I checked in, not fixed for two days. When I checked in they had my reservation dates incorrect, but did fix it. It's in a big parking lot and not near Main Street at all, you have to take a bus to the old town. The hotel is very inexpensive, I'm not sure how they make money, but low cost means less service, which they don't have. The bar closes very early at 10pm and you're better off eating at a local restaurant.

This is a nice hotel, well located in the commercial area of Park City (not the old town), convenient to restaurants, stores, etc. The proprietor was nice enough to give us an additional discount (to AAA), without our asking. Room was spacious with all amenities: refrigerator, microwave, & coffee maker. No breakfast was included, however.

The Yarrow hotel has been updated since we stayed there years ago. It was very nice. The bed was very comfortable with soft sheets and comfy pillows. There was a flat screen tv with lots of channels. There also was a small refrigerator in the room and a couch. The shower was great. It had plenty of hot water and soft towels. The bathroom is small, but nice. We could not get wifi in our room. I asked at the desk and was connected so possibly it's a problem just where we were located. We ate at the restaurant and had a very large salmon salad that was delicious. It is close to everything and on the bus route. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor in the corner and it was very quiet. Had a beautiful view of the mountains.

Stayed here for a quick one night getaway. Plenty of free parking and right next to a grocery store which is convienent for quick snacks. Hallways have a very 70’s feel to them as this is an older hotel laid out in a very confusing pattern. Rooms are tastefully appointed with flat screen TV’s and a newer vanity. Beds weren’t especially comfortable. Ours was a ‘taco bed’ that folded a little bit in the middle much like a futon would. Not a deal killer, but made sleep less than ideal.

Overall, I probably wouldn’t stay here again only because the bed yielded a lot of tossing and turning. I will say that the value is very nice for Park City which can be pretty pricey and maybe our room simply had an old mattress so your experience may end up better.

Room Tip: Try to get a room close to the front of the hotel. Much less walking that way especially as the hot...
