Fabulous experience! We're locals, and we like to visit the different B&B's in the area for mini getaways whenever we can. This one is by far our favorite though. This last time we tried something new - a cooking class as part of our stay. I love cooking, while my husband doesn't touch anything in the kitchen if he can help it. This was a new experience for us, and I wasn't sure if it would be a bust or not. It was PERFECT as it turns out! The Inn's chef took us all on a tour of the local farmer's market, discussed in-season produce, we all came up with a menu on the fly based on what looked best and went back to begin preparing. They keep the groups small (ours was only 4), and everything is hands-on. We all got to try a bit of technique and ask any questions we wanted. We made homemade pasta, with breaded and lightly fried various squashes served over (again homemade) pasta sauce of fresh tomato and herbs. For dessert we made a fresh peach pie with the last of the season’s peaches. Yum! We all sat down and ate family style - my husband and I agreed though it was a little outside our comfort zone to try this, it turned out to be amazingly fun. We both can't wait for the next time. Plus, the class is a bargain when you consider your meal is included!
The unique offerings such as cooking classes, local guided hikes, pairings with spas, etc. are all in addition to a top-notch B&B. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept on (I had to peek to see what kind they were so I could definitely buy one the next time we're in the market!). The staff is super accommodating and friendly & the food is to die for. You simply can't go wrong. Don't even think of staying anywhere else!
