“Comfortable in the mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Stayed here this past weekend, really liked the place. The only negative for me was the altitude sickness. My suite was fantastic, with two full baths kitchen and hot tub on the deck. Everything was aces. I wish I could have enjoyed it more, thanks to Herbert for driving me to the ER in the middle of the night for some oxygen.

This hotel is exceptional in every way. The one bedroom suite was beautiful, with a hot tub on the deck overlooking the mountains. Every member of the staff from the housekeeping to the management goes out of their way to greet you and assist you, and make your stay wonderful. They are all so friendly and kind. The spa and fitness center are also beautifully maintained. Summer is beautiful, and the hiking trails are right out the door. Room service was prompt and the food was delicious. Do not miss an opportunity to stay here. This property is worthy of five stars and definitely worth returning to for a visit.

this was every bit of a 5 star resort....the staff was incredible and always available to help. We had a room on the newer section with a fireplace. Our room did not have a good view, but the resort has plenty of places to sit and admire the view

Just returned from a 4 night stay at SEL for a large family function. While this is a pricey hotel the absolute attention to detail makes it well worth the money. To the person the staff was extraordinary and they could not do enough for you - be it the pool attendant, valet or housekeepers. In my opinion a hotel is only as good as its people so SEL is a winner in my book.

This MUST be one of the top 10 hotels on the planet!!!

Summer in Utah is a time for meetings! No snow, beautiful scenery, perfectly cool weather, and the SEL. Hike, bike, shop, go to meetings and RELAX are the order of the day.

We have traveled extensively for business and pleasure for many years. Staying at the SEL was perfect. I am sure they may not get everything right, but we could did not find anything less than perfect.

The staff is the best we have experienced. The rooms are simply the best, and have a view. And the resturaunts are 5 STAR.

As I was in meetings for 3 days, my wife stayed at the hotel and walked, enyoyed the view, read and relaxed. Having breakfast every morning, outside, looking at the mountains was the way to start the day. Having dinner in the evening again looking at the mountains was perfect with "Burgers on the Hill" including a concert on Tuesday evenings.

The Owner, Stein Eriksen sat at the table next to ours the Tuesday we were there.

We enjoyed every moment.

Room Tip: We have 2 different rooms as a result of a group coming during our stay. They asked if we would min...

The Stein Eriksen simply gets it right! I travel at least 12 times a year internationally and domestically, staying at several exceptional resorts, and I have been an executive in the resort business for over 16 years. The Stein ranks up there with the best. This is my 4th year in a row visiting the Stein for my favorite summer vacation. Their location is beautiful but what sets them apart is their ability to deliver quality in all that they do without pretentiousness. Even the guests here are cordial and respect each others right to enjoy your vacation. Deer Valley has some other very nice resorts but the other comparables are too large and can not make you feel like you are at Your Own Resort. Thank you to all at the Stein employees that have delivered happiness to my family for the past 4 years.

Wow! When my husband told me we were going to Utah for the summer I was not excited. This hotel made me change my mind as soon as we stepped on the property. A mother of seven children this place was so relaxing, so much to do. Pampering galore. Shout out to housekeeping! Never had to lift a finger. Anything you need at your fingertips. You want it they got it. Shuttle service amazing. We brought four of our children never once did they said they were bored. You can hike, mountain bike, game room at the hotel. Spa is amazing thank-you Angela for the wonderful massage. The pool beautiful. We had a suite so we had a hot tub on our deck, full kitchen, washer and dryer. All the comforts of our home. The company had a buffet breakfast every morning shout out to NATHANIEL what a great guy. He remembered our names what each of us like to drink at breakfast. Impeccable service. This place was amazing! words cannot describe the service. Definitely above and beyond 5 star place. We've stayed in lots of 5 star hotels this one is not stuffy. Very warm and inviting.

Room Tip: We were in 107-1 close to dining area, concierge and could see ski runs off our balcony.
