“Lovely and amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We had a work trip to Salt Lake City so we took an extra couple days to visit Park City and stay at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in late summer (early Sept just after Labor Day). As soon as we pulled into the resort, we knew it was special. The valet staff have that Nordic look about them and are well trained in making you feel extremely welcome right away.

We treated ourselves with a luxury one-bedroom suite and when they opened the door to our accommodations we were literally speechless. The place was incredible. Views, amenities, furnishing, decor... one of the most fabulous scenes I've had the opportunity to see.

Right away, we took off up one of the hiking trails from the base of the hotel and had a wonderfully epic hike up and down the mountain with fantastic views. The next day my husband rented a bike from the shop onsite and did some mountain biking while I took a yoga class that was being offered at the Spa's Wellness Studio. For two East Coasters who are usually computer / work-bound, this was a delicious escape for our minds and souls!

Room service was quick and delicious. Every staff member was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. Sunday Brunch was terrific. Our room (really an apartment) was so amazing we wanted to live there forever. The only sad thing was having to leave after only 2 nights.

Loved it!

Room Tip: The luxury one-bedroom suite was out of this world. It was relatively affordable off season but I c...

We had an amazing time at stein erikson. Our room was very luxurious and over the top amazing! We attended sunday brunch and it was very well put together and very satisfying. I felt there was a wide variety of delicious and hand made food that was very well prepared. I enjoyed the desserts presented at brunch as well as the service brought to us! I had an amazing experience and would love to go back!

Loved, loved, LOVED the Stein! Came here for a work meeting with no real expectations, and could not be more impressed with the accommodations and the amenities. The only thing that deserves more accolades is the staff. They are phenomenal! Pleasant, polite, and so very helpful, They are so genuinely kind and guest-friendly. I've never experienced better customer service at any hotel/lodge/ B&B anywhere in the world I've stayed.

The mountain-side lodge is beautiful and immaculate, with the highest quality evident in every detail, from the English in-room toiletries, to the restaurant meals, and the spa, pool, exercise facility, and the complimentary shuttle taking you anywhere (and back) in downtown Park City.
Though the lodge is amazing due to its amenities and location, it is the staff and the obvious pride they have in taking care of every guest need that puts the Stein Eriksen Lodge in a category all its own. I cannot wait to return, both for business and pleasure travel.

We spent a week here and had a wonderful time. The room was wonderful and the hot tub on the balcony was welcome after a day of hiking. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shuttle to Park City was helpful.

Room Tip: I think we had room 204-1 which was newly renovated according to the bellman. It had a gas Viking S...

The bellhop gave our family a tour of the property as he showed us to our room. The highlights...2 comfy queen beds, jetted tub, complimentary laundry, game room for the kids, shuttle to town, concierge. The best service!

Starting off this review by saying I wish we'd had more than 2 nights to enjoy!!!
Stein Eriksen is located mid-mountain in the Silver Lake/Deer Valley area. They only have valet parking available ($10/night) but are quick to bring the car when called in advance. We had a quick check-in and they were able to accomodate an early arrival. The resort is fairly large, lots of stairs and walking. It was helpful to have the bellboy show us to our room and assist with luggage for this reason.
We had a 1 bedroom/2 bath suite with private hot tub on the patio. The room was more than expected. All needed amenities were available. The fireplace was quick to be re-stocked when we called for more wood for our 2nd night. The kitchen was so convenient to have, we ended up staying in and cooking dinner both nights we were there. Nothing beat relaxing in the hot tub after a busy day of hiking/exploring.
The arrival lobby has complimentary coffee/tea in the mornings and apples you can grab for snack in the afternoon. The concierge and restaurants are located in the main lobby. You can access hiking trails right out the back door, and can get a free chairlift ride down if you hike up. Since the resort is located mid-mountain, you can also hike down to the base of deervalley and then either pay for a chairlift ride back up or hike. The pool and main hot tub looked like a great spot to hang out down near the spa/fitness area.
Stein Eriksen does have a complimentary shuttle bus to take you in to downtown Park City. It is pay parking on Main St. so a great option. We also found the Park City bus system to be a great option (runs through the summer for free!) and stops right outside the hotel.
I can't think of a negative at all.....rest assured you'll have a wonderful vacation and the staff are more than willing to help ensure you do!

Room Tip: If you can, book a room with a private hot tub on the patio....such a treat!
