“Great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

Great staff, great location. Desk staff friendly, valets wonderful, cleaning staff respectful and competent. Beautiful view of the mountain and town from our balcony. Nice to take a soak in the hot tub and watch the foot traffic on Main St.

While this is a decent overall hotel in terms of aesthetics, room comfort and friendliness of staff - it is a one star service experience during Sundance. The rates are more than doubled but most of the hotel amenities are not available or dramatically limited to hotel guests. We were restricted from the bar, hotel, rooftop restaurant just to name a few limitations. As a guest, this was shocking. Most of the restaurant staff claimed to be "first day on the job" so it was clear that Sky Lodge had to import talent to handle the peak period. They are too occupied with renting out their space to the film industry to care about their guests. Do not stay here if you hope to be treated in accordance with the sky high room rate.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Our team appreciates your kind words about their performance.

I do apologize that your experience was far below your expectations and that we were restricted on availability of our various venues. As you can imagine, we did learn a lot over the Sundance Film Festival and we are already making changes to our operations for next year’s event. Again, thank you for your review - it is very helpful to us.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath sky suite for 3 nights prior to The Sundance Film Festival. The staff, we were told, was relatively new as the property has undergone recent changes in management. You would not have known it--everyone went above and beyond; very keyed into customer service! Whoever is training them is doing a great job! Our suite was very clean and the bedrooms and bathrooms were huge. The sitting area was a little cozy but there was so much to do and see we were not there much. Our balcony had a 2 person hot tub that was delightful! Some of the amenities were not available because of preparations for the Sundance Film Festival and were beyond the control of the management. Still, Todd--the manager, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was wonderful! Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: would recommend upper level rooms in the front of the property for the best views of the town

I love the Sky Lodge and am only writing certain negatives so that it improves. Most importantly, the rooms are utterly fabulous and the staff is superb. In particular, the shuttle drivers and valets could not be better. We skied at all three resorts and as soon as we called, a driver was on his way to bring us back. The restaurant has a great breakfast, although we usually cooked in our room. The kitchen in the 3BR's is excellent. Location is the best in Park City. My only gripe is room cleaning scheduling. If you ski all day and are out of the room from 8.30 to almost 5, you expect to come back to a clean room. Of course, you want to nap, shower, hot tub hang out by the fire place. I had two rooms and only once out of four times was a room clean when we came back. When I asked about it, the manager said he agreed with me but the hotel was full and they did not have enough staff. This should be an easy fix.

We returned today from 5 nights at the Sky Lodge. We had a three bedroom suite which was clean, nice and comfortable. The location can't be beat. Short walk to ski lift and right in the middle of restaurants and shops. We opted to not rent a car and did not need one. They will take you where you want to go and will pick you up on return. The front desk was great for us. They handled our ski return, airline boarding passes and anything else we asked for. We only had room service once but it was prompt and good. The maid crew was good. For some reason did not come New Years Eve day but we were leaving the next morning so did not call on it. The Tavern bar downstairs was good. The Sky Bar is no longer open. We did not try their restaurant Table One and it never seemed busy. I find this odd because all restaurants on main we're packed. We simply wanted to get out for meals. We first came here in the summer and were pleased then also. In other reviews people praised manager Michael, he was there in the summer and was great as advertised. He must have moved on but again we dealt withe front desk and manager and they were all great.

We stayed at the Sky Lodge last year and had a wonderful experience - it's a convenient location and a beautiful property - which prompted our return.
What a debacle!

The girl at the front desk, was uninformed and unhelpful! (multiple times)
We had made spa reservations in October for an early December visit - when we went to the spa upon our arrival, (because the girl at the front desk wouldn't make a phone call) we had to find a worker, who was able to see the reservations from October, who apologized and said she would have someone get back to us, NO ONE ever did.

The girl at the front desk reluctantly took our room service breakfast order (after suggesting that we phone at 6:30am) which was jacked up. How do you mess up oatmeal?
On the upside, when I phoned room service, they immediately corrected the problem.

The valet was wonderful and on top of things...(apparently, the only one who was)

We stayed last year during major construction renovation, and had a better experience.

At the price you're paying, customer service should be a top priority!

Have you ever seen a bathtub be filled with water coming from a faucet in the ceiling? I hadn't either and I loved it. This place was super clean and super friendly. I really didn't need to leave the hotel during my trip to Park City. It was classy, chic, modern, practical. Everything I would want, plus more, in a hotel room. We stayed in a suite with 3 separate rooms and enjoyed the bar, hot tub, and pool table. The service was perfect.
