“Very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We had an enjoyable stay at the Sky Lodge between xmas and new year. We found the front desk staff and valets/ concierges to be extremely helpful and nice, and loved the random baked goods delivered to our room most evenings. That said, it was surprising that our living room had no window and as our room was in the basement level (which we were not told about), we found the entire space to be quite dark. (It felt like an inside cabin on a cruise ship). Also, the water pressure for our showers was lackluster, to say the least, which I would not have expected from this caliber of hotel.

The restaurants and bar were fine, but it was surprising that you could not access either restaurant from the hotel (had to go outside, albeit briefly). Table One served amazing fare, but the dining room was FREEZING. The more casual restaurant downstairs had a very limited menu.

Overall, service was wonderful, rooms were spacious but dark (at least ours), and restaurants were inaccessible. Might stay there again as the location was superb, but not definitely.

Room Tip: Make sure to request a room NOT on the spa level (first floor).

We appreciate the constructive feedback and we're happy to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay. That's an excellent suggestion to inform guests that the first floor rooms can be dark, and we are considering implementing a reduced rate for those suites.

Our new restaurants Tavern and Table One are housed in a historic building (the former Utah Coal and Lumber building), which is why they were not able to be physically connected to the new construction of the hotel. Both venues are immediately adjacent - just a quick step outside from our lobby entrance.

Thank you for choosing The Sky Lodge - our drivers and guest service staff appreciate your compliments.

“What Happened.....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Had the opportunity to visit the Sky Lodge for breakfast as they have reopened the restaurant under the name of One Table( formerly Easy Street). The place was empty on what is one of the busiest days in Park City. The menu was extremely limited . You could not even get an omelette!
The quality of the food was terrible and the bill for two came to almost 50$. This place has gone completely down hill.

Unfortunately, Table One construction was not complete until moments before the busy holiday period began. It sounds like you came in just following the opening. We are sorry to hear about your experience. We are reinventing and rebranding the property, and the restaurant concepts have completely changed. We haven't even advertised yet, which explains why the restaurant wasn't busy for breakfast. In recent days, we have received some excellent feedback about both Table One and Tavern. We hope you will give us another chance.

“So disappointed....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

We visit Park City often and have stayed at the sky lodge many times but were supremely disappointed this August when we returned. The front desk staff was polite at best, but the woman who "greeted" us was clearly irritated that we interrupted her facebooking or game of solitare. The hotel is falling into disrepair. A layer of dust was found throughout our room and even on the backs of the lobby chairs! Paint peeled from the bathroom wall where the tub filler splashes. Wall sconces in the hallway were either not working or about to fall off, or both. The carpets look worn and dirty and upholstery is tattered. The staff was extremely unresponsive to any request and really, just polite enough to not be outright rude. Our hot tub was broken - never got hot - and 4 requests for service were ignored. The ammenities are lacking, no more nice touches like molton brown or turn down service. They did however offer a mini bar of full size spa product at outrageous prices. I learned this the hard way since there was no notice that these were for sale. The Sky Lodge has turned into an overpriced, run-of-the-mill, grade A dump. I asked to speak to the manager to give him my thoughts and was told he was too busy to talk to me! Unbelievable. I've had better hospitality service at the Best Western. Next time, we will stay at the Washington School House Inn, or the Waldorf, or Montage...literally, anywhere but here!

We sincerely apologize that you found your visit disappointing. We keep our housekeeping to the highest standards, so we are not sure where you encountered dust and we have not had to repair any wall sconces since your August visit. All the hot tubs are checked daily or every other day. On occasion we receive complaints about them not being hot enough, but it's usually the result of guests testing the water temperature with their hand or finger. Our Dir. of Rooms says he has personally checked two hot tubs when this has happened with a digital thermometer and they usually read about 104 degrees - once the guests get in the tubs they discover they are indeed hot enough.

We do turn down service every night and have recently upgraded the treats we offer. The spa amenities are clearly marked with pricing. They are products by Zents, a small, family owed, 100% organic company out of Boulder, CO. Their prices are actually very competitive and indeed less expensive than most.

We hope you will return to experience the many enhancements we made this fall - we have renovated our lobby, and last week opened two new food and beverage amenities, Table One and Tavern.

“So happy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

This December our company decided to do something a little different and fly out all our employees and their significant others for a holiday weekend in Park City. After touring a few facilities it was evident that The Sky Lodge was the right fit for us and, now, after the weekend is over, that feeling is just amplified. Everything about this hotel is beyond amazing! To begin: we reserved the hotel's restaurant, Bar Boheme, for dinner on Saturday night and used their breakfast buffet on our final morning. All items were delicious with zero complaints! Accommodations were easily made for our vegan and vegetarian guests and there was no skimping on flavor or creativity. At each meal the staff was attentive and so, so courteous and I can say no less for the staff at the front desk and throughout the hotel. We had a number of employees take advantage of their spa facility and heard rave reviews for the massages, particularly the "Man"cation. We would definitely suggest reserving the penthouse suite for a private party, too. The piano came in handy when we found out there was a birthday in the house and were able to sing "Happy Birthday" with accompaniment and the enormous wrap-around deck with its multiple hot tubs were taken full advantage of even during a snowfall. The ambiance of the entire hotel is contemporary and welcoming with multiple fireplaces, which were also in many of the rooms, and simple, stylish decor. We saw multiple rooms and each one was clean, spacious and some even had a pool table. We could very easily go on and on with various details that made an impact, including the fact that the sales director, Terry Nani, and his associates were there to welcome our group and personally take each guest up to their room. We plan on hosting another holiday event next year and, if it's in Park City, we'll simply call Terry and say, "Let's do it again!"

“Bad Business”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

I have stayed at the Sky Lodge before and it is a nice, & expensive hotel. I went in to check out all of the rooms there for a B-Day party and I decided which room I wanted. I met with Terry & he gave me a price for Friday. I decided that i wanted the room for Saturday and he said that the price was 300.00 dollars more because Saturday was Dec 1, & not Nov 30.... I told him that I did not want to pay the difference because of 3 reasons, 1) I am already paying full price for an out of season rate. 2) The Hotel is under construction and my guests will not even be able to walk through the lobby when they arrive. 3) I do not want to pay an increase on a room that I know for a fact will not be used If I do not book it, because it is not busy up there yet. He said he could do just a $100.00 increase instead of $300.00 & I said no. Finally after I had already found another place to stay with my group of 9, he said that he would give me the rate, and this is the email that he sent me. This is copied and pasted.
"Believe me, it is not for the reasons you express in your answer, nor the people you may have coming that I now agree to keep this under your expressed budget of (took out actual $ amount but it was 4 figures). Virginia will be in touch to solidify your rate and confirmation this morning."
If he would have just taken a more than fair rate, instead of try to haggle with me on a night that he knew was slow, while the hotel was under construction I would have stayed at the sky lodge. I however went to VRBO.com and found a 5 Bedroom House for 2 nights, for the same price I would have paid for 3 rooms for 1 night at the Sky Lodge.

Room Tip: I did not stay at the hotel because of the way I was treated by Terry...

It's the nature of the lodging business that room rates are variable, but we understand that you ultimately chose to stay with The Sky Lodge during your Park City visit. We value your business and are pleased that you wound up lodging here. Our construction will be finished in the next 7-10 days. We hope you enjoyed your stay and your weekend in Park City. Hopefully, we will see you again soon at The Sky Lodge!
