The Viking Yurt is an experience I will definitely repeat.
The temps have been in the single digits and negatives the last few days so be sure to dress in layers. We wore our ski pants up and took them off at the yurt. Even if you time your trip when it's not so cold, you are on a sleigh on a mountain with snow that lands on the seats. So ladies, it's not about the outfit.
The ride up the mountain was neat and you get to see some of the really high trails, especially if you'll never see a black diamond slope. Once inside the yurt it is warm and cozy and a great ambiance. The tables seat 6-8 people and you are assigned a table seating. We had wonderful conversations with our group and really enjoyed the company.
The FOOD was AMAZING. A six course meal spaced perfectly apart. By the third course I was wondering where the rest would fit. The beef short rib was melt in your mouth perfect and I have never had anything so tender. Served with wild mushrooms and winter squashes, the mushrooms were out of this world. My husband ate the sides also and he's a picky eater, so give it a whirl if you are timid. Give it to Mikey... (For those old enough to finish that phrase).
Ultimately it was a great experience and I can't wait for a future trip to PC to go on another Viking Yurt trip.
