“Careful which room you pick...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Overall, I was expecting a lot from this resort. There are definite upsides:

Price (for the room we got, comes with a caveat though)
Location - convenient to resorts, restaurants, and shopping
Very nice bathroom, comes with robes, a nice touch.
Leather sofa/couch in room. Standard TV.
fireplace

Downsides:
Never needed the fireplace. When i mentioned the heat wasn't working properly (too hot), was told to open the window, lol.
Location - while convenient, the hotel suggests there will be some nature in the vicinity. In reality, this hotel is in the middle of a parking lot for a massive shopping development. Not exactly charming.
Bed/mattress was not great
As others have alluded to, be careful which room you get. We got a "deluxe", the cheapest option, and the room was smallish, and had no view...unless you count looking at another hotel room across a gravel topped roof. big let down. Apparently the bigger rooms are nice,

Service was just ok. Not bad but certainly not the proactive niceness I've had at a lot of other hotels.

Overall, I'd stay again, mainly because of proximity to highway/shopping/resorts, but would definitely be open to staying somewhere else as well.

Room Tip: Don't get the small/deluxe if you're at all claustrophobic. It's like being on a ship...

First, I am sorry that this traveler’s experience seemed to not have met their expectations. We understand the importance of a vacation and make every effort to ensure that the location, features and amenities of Newpark Resort are thoroughly explained.

I am not sure where the misunderstanding occurred (I have reached out to hopefully understand), but I strongly believe that we have always the exact feature of the destination and our accommodations, including, Deluxe Hotel Rooms, One- and Two-Bedroom Hotel Suites and Two-Bedroom Townhomes.

To better understand the features of each room type, visit our website, call us or read many of the other reviews from hundreds of travelers on TripAdvisor.com

The Town Center is the epitome of Park and City - a vibrant neighborhood that uniquely combines the very best of mountain living with the convenience of urban amenities and services. Stroll through vibrant shops and galleries, diverse restaurants and cafés, a movie theater, grocery stores, a state-of-the-art recreation complex and Park City’s only Family Entertainment Center, offering bowling, arcade, billiards and a full restaurant and bar.Newpark is adjacent to a 1,200-acre nature preserve and features a unique Sun Calendar Plaza, with its interactive sun calendar, public sculptures and ample outdoor benches and fire pits for visiting with friends and neighbors. In addition, Newpark is home to a state-of-the-art amphitheater where free, live music plays out before a summertime backdrop of high mountain meadows.

And yes, we offer free parking, lots of it. Because in our opinion little can be more frustrating after a long day on the slopes or a trail, to return to the hotel and find it difficult to park.

The positive experience of our guest is of utmost importance, if you have any questions about our location, features and amenities of Newpark Resort, please call us to get your questions answered.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Newpark Resort and Hotel. Both experiences have been outstanding! The Newpark Resort and Hotel is conveniently located to skiing locations and Newpark provides convenience along with enjoyable dinning for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Especially, Maxwell's. GREAT PIZZA!

Room Tip: Both the Town homes and hotel are great; however, the hotel provides a little more privacy.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at the Newpark Hotel. We upgraded to the one bedroom suite with a full kitchenette, and private hot tub on balcony. The unit was very nicely appointed with a beautiful view of the mountains. The bed and bed linens were lovely and the bathroom spacious with a full soaking tub and shower. The hotel is very conveniently located to all three mountains: The Canyons, Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort. The old town of Park City is a short and direct route with excellent signage to direct you. The hotel is in the same complex as Whole Foods and Starbucks, which was very convenient for snacks etc. The Liquor store is very close by and this is where you purchase beer and wine. There are also lockers down by the front desk where you can store your skis and walk right out a few yards to the shuttle bus that runs on the :30 and :45 all day. Breeze ski rental is right in the hotel and you receive a 25% discount as a guest of the hotel. The Front Desk staff was helpful and the Housekeeping staff took great care of our room. We will definitely come back. It felt very home-like and we were very comfortable. Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: Definitely pay the extra price for the upgraded room with a hot tub and full kitchenette.

The hotel is really attractive and all-new. However, there are lot of things that are just stupid and while none is a deal-breaker, it all adds up to be really annoying. First: there are two wildly different kinds of room, and the disparity between them is huge and very hidden on the website. The regular rooms (just the number, as in "205") are wonderful, like nice hotel rooms with full kitchenettes. The "B" or, "Crap", rooms are AWFUL and not worth the money. They have only one tiny airshaft window that looks into someone else's room. They have some cups and plates, but no way to heat food (no microwave, range, or anything else.) The room is TINY (no chest of drawers or closet, just some pull out drawers below the bed.) You pay A LOT for this room, almost as much as the luxury standard rooms - and it is not worth it - if I were rating just on the value of the "B" room, this would be a one star review. Second: the thermostat in the rooms is possessed by the devil. You can put it on 55 or 85, doesn't make a difference - if you are in a Crap Room, the room will be a zillion degrees; if you are in a Nice Room, it will be very chilly. Third: the two buildings are separated and the second building street entrance is locked, so if you are in the other building and on the third floor, you have to walk up (or elevator up) one floor, walk across the building, then walk up (or elevator up) again. This is a massive pain in the buttocks when you are schlepping ski stuff. The hotel is nice and convenient and the gym and pool are lovely, but after walking across the building and up and down stairs and waiting for elevators with ski gear 15 times, I'm sort of irritated. That will definitely be what I remember about the trip.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the "B" rooms. I guarantee you can get a better room for less anywhere els...

We are disheartened to read the disappointment the guest detailed in his/her review. Unlike so many other travelers, their expectations were clearly not met. Direct contact with the reviewer to better understand the booking process and even the booking channel has been initiated to strive to prevent this mis-communication for future travelers.

We have always made every attempt to clearly detail the accommodations. It is our sincere goal to ensure our customers always know exactly what they can expect when staying with us. To assist future travelers, I hope to address the features and variances of the accommodations.

First, there are ski lockers that are made available to guests, complimentary on the ground floor in the locker room adjacent to the hotel's lobby and ski/board/bike rental equipment shop.

Second, below is the summary of the accommodations:

HOTEL DELUXE ROOM: At approximately 400 square feet, Deluxe Rooms have sleeping capacity of 4-people (recommended two adults and 1-2 kids MAXIMUM) and offer the following amenities:
• BEDDING: Queen Bed, 300+ thread-count custom linens and plush pillows and duvets.
• LIVING AREA: Gas fireplace, queen sleep sofa with the same luxurious bedding and 32” LG Flat Panel, HDTV televisions on full-motion mounting system.
• BATHROOM: large soaking bath tub/shower, heated tile flooring and single vanity with solid granite countertop. Supple bamboo/cotton blended towels and bathrobes. Premium, spa quality bath amenities. Natural light.
• KITCHENETTE: Equipped with convenience sink, mini-refrigerator, solid granite countertops & Keurig single-cup brew station. No microwave.
• VIEW: Light-well view. Panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding areas, ONLY exist in Suites or Townhomes.
• OTHER: Complimentary internet access, both Wi-Fi and direct connect. Iron & ironing board. Wall safe. Daily housekeeping.

I believe these accommodations are certainly "deluxe" by many standards. There are literally thousands of guests who have found our Deluxe Rooms more than accommodating.

HOTEL SUITES: Suites have two basic floor plans – a private, 1-Bedroom or an openly designed Great Room. All suite provide a spacious layout with many functional considerations. At approximately 800 square feet, there is plenty of room to relax and unwind. (recommended two adults, two adults + 1-2 Kids or 4-Adults MAXIMUM) and offer the following amenities:
• BEDDING: King Bed, 300+ thread-count custom linens, plush pillows and duvets.
• LIVING ROOM: 3-sided gas fireplace, queen sleep sofa with the same luxurious bedding and incredible 32” LG Flat Panel, HDTV televisions on full-motion mounting systems.
• BATHROOM: large soaking bath tub, separate full standing shower, heated tile flooring and dual vanities with solid granite countertop. Supple bamboo/cotton blended towels and bathrobes. Premium, spa quality bath amenities. Natural light.
• KITCHEN: Well-equipped kitchen and accessories, with service for 8-people. Stainless refrigerator/freezer, microwave/convection oven, electric 2-burner range and dishwasher. Kuerig single-cup brew station.
• VIEW, HOT TUB & DECK: Spacious, private deck offer guests unobstructed views of the 3 ski Areas, Utah Olympic Park and the Swaner Nature Preserve. Hot Tubs are freshly-filled prior to each arrival and allow views of 32” HD TVs.
• OTHER: Complimentary internet access, both Wi-Fi and direct connect. Iron & ironing board. Wall safe. Daily housekeeping.

HOTEL SUITES and DELUXE ROOMS may be combined for a TWO-ROOM HOTEL SUITE

TOWNHOMES:
The Newpark Townhomes offer the most spacious accommodations. Three floor plans average 1,350 square feet. Each Townhome sits on the edge of an ecologically important nature preserve, offering a refreshing glimpse of Park City’s natural beauty. Townhomes have sleeping capacity of 6-8 people and offer the following amenities:
• BEDDING: Not all bedding is the same, typical bedding is: First master bedroom equipped with king bed, second master bedroom equipped with (2) twins beds (some have a queen bed), upstairs den equipped with 1- or 2-twin trundle beds. *Bedding configuration is not guaranteed.
• KITCHEN: Fully-equipped kitchen and accessories, with service for 12-people. stainless refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, 4-burner gas range and dishwasher.
• LIVING ROOM: 3-Sided Gas Fireplace. 3/4 bathroom. Queen sleep sofa. Flat panel, televisions on full-motion mounting systems.
• BATHROOM: Three full bathrooms, spacious and equipped with granite countertops and spa quality bath amenities.
• HOT TUB & DECKS: Spacious, private decks offer guests unobstructed views of the 3 ski areas, Utah Olympic Park or the Swaner Nature Preserve. Private hot tubs are freshly-filled prior to each arrival and allow views of flat panel televisions.
• OTHER: Washer/Dryer. Private, attached garage. Iron & ironing board. Wall safe. Mid-stay housekeeping with daily housekeeping available. Natural light throughout. A select number of Townhomes have Internet, Air Conditioning and participate in the Hotel’s Amenities program that grants townhome guests access to the Hotel’s Indoor/Outdoor pool with lap lane, outdoor hot tub, steam room, sauna and fitness center.

It is important that guests understand their accommodations and the property. Guests are encouraged to discuss requests and desires prior to arrival to ensure that expectations can be met as often such requests are subject to availability. If you have ANY questions, please call us.

Stayed at the Newpark Resort for a business conference. The hotel was easy to get to and has plenty of parking. Unfortunately I don't ski. Was pleasently surprised with the room, very nice and clean, plenty of space and came with a romantic fireplace (too bad I was alone this trip). Especially liked the coffee table that has a top that raises up almost like a desk that made it very comfortable to get some work done. The bathroom was roomy and nicely tiled with a large bathtub which I imagine would be great after a long day of skiing. Explored the immediate area for eating and was very happy with many, varied local restuarants. Took a short drive to historic Park City which is a great place to explore with many interesting shops and dinning options. Parking was an issue though in the historic part of Park City. Would highly recommend the Newpark Resort great rooms and good location.

My bf got reservations at the last minute during president's weekend. So romantic here. There is lots of parking and some where you can park under an awning so you don't get snow on your car. The people at the front desk gave us 20% discount cards for ski rentals when we checked in. The ski rental store is literally in the same building.(the people at breezes need a shout out for being patient and kind even when it got busy)

The fire place in the room really warmed up the room quickly. The TV had a dvd player too. Living room is small but there is a storage room for luggage inside the room too. bathroom floors were heated and the tub was so big my bf, who is 6' 5", could sit up with his legs in front of him and just soak after skiing. Hair dryer in a small bag and qtips and cotton balls were available in the bathroom too.

Would def love to come back. P.S Tanger outlets and walmart less than a mile away. Tjmaxx and whole foods within walking distance.

Room Tip: Walls are kind of thin... try asking for a corner room or something bc our's was in the middle o...

Just stayed at the Newpark Resort for the second time. I've really enjoyed the hotel on both trips.

The hotel is located just off Interstate 80 in a pretty new shopping and entertainment complex just off the Park City exit. It's just a mile or two from The Canyons resort, and Park City Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and Main Street are just a few miles away. The Utah Olympic Park (Olympic training facilities, and Bobsled track) are just across the road.

There are lots of restaurants, a Whole Foods market and state run liquor store within walking distance. The Kneaders restaurant at the base of the hotel is fantastic for breakfast! We ate there almost every day. Also, Maxwell's (Italian) and Good Thymes (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) are both downstairs and are both very good.

The resort has a variety of room options. From small hotel rooms, larger rooms with balconies and hot tubs and townhomes. The rooms are really clean and comfortable. The beds are amazing with the thickest mattresses I've ever seen. The leather couch is a sofa bed and the bathroom is roomy.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel has a really nice and large heated indoor / outdoor pool and outside hot tub which was rarely used by other guests. We were in the hot tub every night after skiing and we usually had it to ourselves. It was like that the last time I visited too. No better way to end a long day of skiing. They also have a nice workout room and sauna and steam room.

Parking is plentiful and free and we were always able to park extremely close to the main entrance. There is also a Breeze ski rental shop in the lobby and the hotel provides a 25% discount on rentals. The hotel also provides free large walk-in storage lockers for your ski gear. Extremely helpful and convenient.

Overall, we were really happy with our stay and I definitely recommend the resort.
