“I would go back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2011

We live in the Arizona desert so wanted to go to cooler mountain climate. Park City is a cool town. We booked the Miners Club as our time share exchange. The location is good.....nice and quiet. Close to the gondola that takes you up the mountain during ski season. We had a 2 bedroom that was very spacious. No noise although we were there during the slow season. Staff was bare and the "restaurant" was closed because they had no customers. The restaurant was just beer, wine and "bar food". But there were plenty of good places to eat near by. Only 5 mins to Park City.
It was fairly clean except I could see they had not mopped the bathroom floors between guests as there were lots of spill areas.
I used the work out room which was adequate and had clean towels and water.
A good point is there was no hard sell on buying a time share. Overall a great place to stay.

Room Tip: We had the 2 bedroom in the middle which had a huge balcony. I think there are only 2 rooms with lar...

4BR 4 Bath, nice size, adequate furnishings. Starting to show age. Hot tub is huge. You need a car for this location unless all you do is ski at The Canyons and have your groceries delivered by a service. Bus is far and service to The Canyon Miners Club is poor. You could find yourself stuck in Park City on Main and paying for a $20 cab ride home after 5:30 pm. Beds are comfy, kitchen very well stocked. The 3 secondary bedrooms did not have a television in them. Front desk said it was not provided in the add'l bedrooms. Watch out they will "blackmail" (attempt anyway) you for five bucks for a charity on the final invoice. See the Olympic Training Center. Very Cool per my Spouse, I missed as I was skiing. Housekeeping erratic on times but take out trash and make beds daily. Very responsive to requests.

Ignore the sour review from the woman who gave a bad rating to a resort she didn't even stay in because she got caught parking on posted private property.

We just returned from a great week at the Miner's Club at the Canyons and the accommodations and location are perfect. We were in a 4 bedroom/4 bath that slept 10. 2 bedrooms are upstairs in a loft and were perfect for the 4 teenage boys we had with us and all their snowboard gear. Downstairs is a large living/dining room area with a fireplace and a fully appointed kitchen with granite counter tops. The master bedroom also has a fireplace.

Some nice touches that are not found at many timeshares were the thick bathrobes in the rooms and housekeeping every day. They made the beds, emptied the trash, replaced towels if needed, AND cleaned the kitchen!.

The resort is located at the base of the Frostwood Gondola which takes you right to the main lifts of the Canyons. The ski school at the resort is first rate. A 1/4 mile walk below the resort connects you up with the free city shuttle if you want to go into Park City or ski at the Park City Resort. That resort has a highly rated terrain park for snowboarders.

I highly recommend this resort and can't wait to return.

I visited the Canyons resort Labor Day weekend and parked in the gravel lot just south of the Miner's Club. There is a small sign, very difficult to see, that says "no parking." After an hour of exploring, my car had a boot. I went to the front desk and paid the $50 fine and was met with a very unfriendly (Keith) front desk attendant. The Miner's Club employee who unlocked the boot basically said that this is how the property makes money.

I would also comment that the property is dark and dingy, with very low ceilings. The pool area is small. The combination of sub-par customer service with the quality of the property will make me stay away from this place. There are great choices in Park City- this is not one of them.

The Miners Club finally has the Frostwood Gondola in front of the resort which makes it much easier to connect to the Canyons ski area. Unfortunately, no shuttle to the other ski areas (Park City and Deer Valley) was provided this year. Maybe there is hope again in the future. We own a timeshare week at the Miners Club and enjoy the spacious 2 BR/2B condos, the pool and jacuzzi and this year also a small restaurant called "Hideaway" that is great for snacks, pizza's, soups and sandwiches after 4pm. The units could do with a bit of refurbishing (i.e. carpets, appliances....) but overall our trip was very enjoyable. With the complimentary local Park City shuttle it is fairly easy to reach downtown Park City, Albertson's supermarket and even the Park City and Deer Valley ski area. We will be back.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2009

We stayed here during the last week of June 2009 using my Raintree vacation club points. There were 8 in our group: 4 adults, 2 kids around 9 years old, two teenagers (boys). We had a huge 3 bedroom, 4 bath unit (two levels) with a loft.

Class act all the way, feeling of an upscale boutique hotel, flat screen TVs and upscale furnishings throughout, daily maid service with no additional charge. There was some construction going on nextdoor (almost close to completion) for the Dakota Mountain lodge (Waldorf Astoria collection hotel by Hilton). Only drawback to Miner's club is that there is no restaurant onsite, but once the Dakota lodge is complete it will be perfect to use the restaurants, lounges, and SPA etc of the Dakota Lodge without paying an arm and a leg. Miner's club and the Dakota Lodge share the same driveway so it is only a 2 minute walk. The outdoor swimming pool is beautifully heated (close to a hot tub) and one should be able to swim even during the ski season. The construction of the Frostwood Gondola next to the Miner's Club was also complete when we were there and we were told that it will surely be operational by the 2009-10 Ski season, making both Miner's Club and Dakota Mountain Lodge Ski in and Ski out. I have sent some of my friends to ski at this resort last winter and it is going to be my turn to try skiing there in Feb/March of 2010. Can't wait!

They also provide free underground parking (heated) for 1 car per condo.
