This is a superior location to attend Sundance, as it is only a five minute walk to Yarrow/Holiday Village screenings, as well as the festival buses which stop there to connect to every other festival venues. The Hotel Park City is also is a stop on the Blue 3 and City-wide late night buses, rendering it safe and convenient when films conclude at 2 AM.
Pros: central location, superb breakfast buffet with omelet station and made to order pancakes and french toast, as well as fresh berries and melons, washing machine/dryer in unit, large bathroom with jacuzzi and large shower stall with multi-headed implements, balcony with 2 chairs and a small table, fantastic spa (ask for a hot stone massage with Sarah!), free yoga and fitness classes, multiple flat screens and sound system, multiple mirrors.
Cons: ridiculously small safe, stiff as a board "cotton" towels of various shades of white and grey (yuck!), cheap generic bath amenities, old, humpy mattress, not-much-room-to-walk sleeping area in executive suite, lying, abrasive manager with zero business acumen, young inept staff, $.59 per minute computer station, no one ever at the door to greet, open doors or assist with baggage!
The Hotel Park City is apparently a sort of time-share that is rented out as hotel rooms to unsuspecting guests as rooms become available. Expect nothing in terms of veracity from management. Prior reviewers are absolutely on the mark in their characterization of the lead charlatan named Tim. If you have no expectations with regard to service, and focus on the lovely surroundings, succulent breakfasts, wonderful spa, and comfortable large living areas, you'll enjoy your stay immensely. The steep "resort fee" apparently doesn't cover the 59 cent per minute ancient PC available for use in a closet known as the "business center". Only boarding passes are free to search and print, so just savor your iPhone and avoid this nonsense.
I didn't use the small outdoor pool, but the indoor soaking pools in the spa are almost as large! The spa and fitness center are directly accessible from one interior elevaqtr, the other elevator takes you into the undergroun parking garage, which isn't very appealing. Spa prices are a bit steep, but the service was remarkable. The hotel personnel should be trained by the spa staff!
