“Luxurious lodge setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2012

I've stayed here twice for business (onsite conference during off-peak season). Their standard rooms are very inviting and roomy and have nice amenities such as fireplace, robes, kitchenette, etc. It's a very comfortable room and I wished I had my SO to share it as it can be a romantic spot.

My second stay, I had part of a suite, which ordinarily would be great. Unfortunately it was a Murphy bed because I had the common area of the suite, which was ok, but it was offset by the full gourmet kitchen, dining room and balcony.

Overall, it's a lovely property but not much in the way of outdoor activities there in May. It was beautiful but unpredictable weather as it snowed during my stay there. I'm sure it would be a very popular spot during peak ski season.

They do have a complimentary shuttle that will take you to the shops and eating establishments, including Stein Erikson Lodge which is across the street. Because it was snowing, they offered to shuttle me across the way, so I wouldn't have to trek through the cold. Service is excellent and everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Our conference included some meals and the food is pretty decent for hotel fare. They also have plenty of meeting space available. Being there off season though, not much is open on the property. I drive up from Salt Lake City and they have enclosed parking which is very convenient too. Not used to such luxuries since I live in SoCal!

Would definitely recommend as a good place to stay for business, pleasure or a romantic getaway with your honey!

Room Tip: Get a balcony if you can! My first stay, my window faced a snow covered wall.

I have just experienced “The Chateaux” with my family. All the staff were wonderful. Our two bedroom apartment was beautifully appointed. The cleaning staff came through every day so we did not have to lift a finger. In the evenings our beds were turned down for us and chocolates and bottled water were left on the beds.
Breakfast was fresh and tasty with once again the staff ensuring that all was as it should be. The in house chauffeur service was also excellent and obliging.
My Wife injured her knee skiing. The staff took her to the Park City Medical Centre and offered hot and compresses upon her return.
This certainly is the high water mark in Ski resort accommodation. I cannot wait to return!

I was a guest in early December '11. The property and service were impeccable. The location is perfect, simply walk out the door to the slopes. I found Dax at the front desk to be very helpful.
My meals and service in the dining room were first class.
I look forward to my next visit.

We have been coming to Deer Valley for many years now and have stayed at numerous different lodges. This was our first time to stay at the Chateaux and we were not disappointed. We stayed for 5 nights, checking out Christmas Eve. We booked two rooms: one king for my husband and I and one with two queens for our teenage sons.

We found the rooms to be comfortable and the decor to be what you would expect from a Deer Valley Ski Lodge-- big, fluffy comfy beds, gas fireplace, warm robes. The bathrooms were quite large and had nice toiletries, coffee pot, and a mini-fridge that they stocked with ice and creamer. Our room also had a washer and dryer (complete with laundry detergent and dryer sheets), which always comes in handy.

We took advantage of the many amenities that the Chateaux provided. Just outside of our unit was the heated pool and one of the many hot tubs. We enjoyed the apres ski in the Cena lounge every day. The fried clams and the truffle potato chips were very good. The included breakfast buffet was the best that we have had at Deer Valley. The selection was a bit different every day, but still included some sort of french toast (my boys' favorite was the rice crispy crusted)/waffle/pancake, two types of scrambled egg (plain and cheese or mushroom or sausage), a roasted potato, bacon and sausage, and then the fruit, homemade granola, yogurt, bagels/toast/muffins. A great way to start your day of skiing.

The location could only be better if you skied directly onto your own deck. It is literally right across the street from Silver Lake Lodge- very close and convenient.

We found the service to be top-notch. We had one day where we ran into some issues, but the general manager was very accommodating and offered to upgrade our room at no charge, which we declined. He also checked back with us the next day to make sure that the issue(s) had not happened again.

The chateaux was a marvelous choice for us. One suggestion for improvement: consider having a teen room with ping pong and pool tables. There were many families there with teenage kids. I think this would be an added bonus.

Great location! Short walk to Deer Valley lifts and great restaurants.Hotel Shuttle to downtown Park City was wonderful - no need to rent a car. Ski rental in hotel lobby friendly, knowledgeable and competitively priced. All the hotel staff was very friendly and always helpful. The room was small with little drawer space however the beds were comfortable. The Deer Valley staff slope side were every where and always ready to answer questions.Food and drink are pricey however the quality and service is excellent. We would return and request a larger room.

We just returned from a two night stay at The Chateaux at Silver Lake in Park City, Utah. This was our first trip to Utah and anywhere that cold. We loved the property.

Booking - We booked through TripAdvisor’s Snique Away Deals site. Never heard of this hotel prior to booking it. So glad we did and hope they'll have this hotel on the site again. Would totally book again!

Checkin - We checked in shortly after 4pm on Saturday, December 10th. We were cordially greeted by the front desk staff. They even took us directly to our room. Never had a front desk staff member personally walk us to our room location before in the states. What a nice touch!

Room - We had room 306, the hotel King. Totally recommend this room. Average size hotel room but it had tall ceilings w/ wood beams, all wood furnishing, and a huge flat screen tv (w/ DirectTV in the room). The room had a small refrigerator & microwave as well. The bed was super comfortable as well. One of the nicest rooms we've stayed in. Not overly large, but very quaint. The fireplace was nice too. We never used it as we couldn't figure out how to turn it on. Never before have we used a fireplace, so we kind of forgot about it being there after a while. The room's heating & air worked perfectly, so we didn't need any other type of heat.
First hotel that we've stayed at since the Bed & Breakfast hotels in Charleston, SC to actually provide turndown service at night. We are used to it on vacations outside the US. This was pretty neat to have in the states.

Breakfast - Since we booked through Snique Away we had breakfast included with our stay at the Cena Restaurant. It was wonderful. Great selection from the buffet. Many cold & hot items to choose from. Loved the fresh cut fruit. Felt like we were back in Jamaica on vacation with this Breakfast buffet. Very nice!

Hotel Parking/Shuttle - We rented a car while we were there. The Chateaux had free underground heated parking. That worked out great! We never used the shuttle, but it was always available. Next time, if we don't rent a car, we will definitely use the complimentary shuttle that goes down to Main Street.

Overall Experience - This was our first time skiing. We went to the Canyons with some friends. However, Deer Valley was within walking distance and very convenient to The Chateaux. Next time, we will definitely try Deer Valley.
Choose this hotel if you are heading to Park City. No complaints at all! Can't wait to hopefully go back soon! I am very picky when it comes to resorts, and this place was truly amazing! The staff was phenomenal and the service was way above what was expected! They even gave us a really late checkout for FREE! Loved this hotel! Amazing place!

I am so pleased your first experience in Utah and a cold weather destination was at our hotel. Ski vacations are a unique experience and our staff works diligently to make it a pleasurable experience for our guests. Hope to see you skiing down the slopes of Deer Valley Resort in the future.

The Chateaux is a wonderful resort for all seasons. The rooms were plush with extremely comfortable beds. There is a heated pool and two hot tubs that are nice, especially in the cold mountain weather. The parking is extremely easy and close to the entrance of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was simple but complete and included in the price of our room. There is a shuttle that takes you to Main St, Park City so you do not have to do much driving to get around. I highly recommend The Chateaux for summer, winter, or any season. It is extremely close to the slopes.
