“Friendly, centrally located but small resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Great home base for skiing - very upscale feel in the lobby and common areas. Plus the onsite ski rental Aloha Rentals is not more expense than renting on the resorts, so get a jump on your holiday by renting there. The staff there is wonderful - they employ friendly 20-somethings from Europe and South America, and those people are wonderful. They help and assist with luggage, directions, advise and provide great service. Please be respectful of their effort and tip well and be generous with saying thank you to all that are going out of their way to make sure that YOU have a great time.

Restaurant has solid choices, but nothing mind blowing. The underground parking is ample and saves your car from becoming an ice cube over night in the Utah winters.

Lounge upstairs has an enormous breakfast for Rewards members - sausage, bacon, fruit, eggs, tea, coffee, juices, oatmeal, cereals, bagels, etc. They have the entire spread! Lastly, the indoor pool is a great way to splash away the evening apres ski.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the mountains on the 3rd floor.

The in town Marriott was much more reasonable than the two on the slope, but it was still very nice. I enjoyed the nice treadmills and REALLY enjoyed the steam room after skiing all day. The steam was enough to make this a great choice for me. The concierge lounge is rather spartan, but it was nice to have. The hotel has a little age, but it was clean and well maintained. Very helpful staff and all seemed happy to be there which makes a big difference in my opinion. Only gripe I had was there was no TV channel guide in the gym ( a pet peeve of mine) - on each machine is nice but at least one in a central location is very helpful. I appreciated having the refrigerator in the room.

We were on a trip without a real plan, so we rolled into every town we visited with no reservations and were pretty lucky finding reasonably priced accommodations. So, on a Monday afternoon, after spending significant time on various websites and even calling various management companies trying to find something reasonable for 1 night, I finally did priceline name your own price and for $96 out the door, we ended up here! I was hoping for a Best Western at best. This place was listed for $209 + tax on orbitz. For that price, I would have been bummed out. For $96, I was totally happy.

The place is located in Park City but not walking distance to ski hills or downtown. The lobby is very warm and cozy with a fireplace and some couches. The two people at the front desk were very friendly and the check in was efficient. Our room (which from booking on priceline, I am sure is probably the lowest end room you can get, just noting, not complaining) had 2 queens and a view of the indoor courtyard where the pool is, although we couldn't see the pool. This didn't allow for much natural light in the room. Also, we just had the shear curtains, no drapes, so it felt like people across the narrow courtyard could see us when we had the lights on, and we could see them. Like a typical Marriott, the bedding was high end, the carpet was plush, the counter was granite, etc. The bathroom had a pedestal sink inside and a larger vanity outside. That was a nice touch rather than having either or. The main issue I had is that we apparently had elephants staying above us or there is no sound deadening because we could hear every step they took and they did an awful lot of walking around in a hotel room. A positive was that they actually had free internet, which I have never experienced in one of these higher end properties. It seems like it is usually something like $15 a day.

Overall, for the price I paid, I was very happy, at $240 a night (which I would never pay for a place that isn't on the ocean) I would have felt ripped off.

Room Tip: Try to get the top floor so you don't hear people walking around above you and also try to get a...

The Park City Marriott truly is a ski town hotel, caters to skiers and adds very nice touches like an in house ski shop, shuttles, and warm cookies and hot coco in the afternoon( see other reviews for detail on the nice ski town touches... Shoutout to:the shuttle driver that was so helpful and friendly and they had a bellman unload your skis!)
I just spent 4 nights there and it worked fine for our needs, and we had a great ski trip - this seemed like the best non- premium location hotel. Parking was easy and accessible which made the fairly removed location ok and the shuttle was good. Location is a big one and this hotel is great for the money, charging about half the amount of Main Street hotels, while still being 3 minutes away from the action- the location is worth it vs staying out by Rt 80.

The nit picky (but not trip busting)- the hotel messed up our booking after confirming with 3 different people to combine a reservation, and we received a rude knock at out door that we should have checked out one afternoon. Also, I used Marriott points and any other time I have done that, other marriotts put you in a prime room, this one put us in a basement level room that left me feeling like "I saved 5 years of points/ 60 paid nights for this?" At the end of the day, this hotel offers nice, but pretty basic hotel rooms, while to feel like a ski vacation to me, one needs a more rustic homey touch to be able to relax at home after a hard day of skiing. Would have preferred to stay somewhere with a kitchen and fireplace next time.
Park City is awesome though so any location in PC is a good one!

Room Tip: Not first floor/ basement.

At $600 per night I'm disappointed. I travel extensively and have paid these rates and more but I would have expected, at a minimum:

1. A night light to make your way to the bathroom at night.
2. A mirror with sufficient lighting to shave or apply makeup. My wife and daughter had to use their cell phone's flashlight app.
3. Beds that are softer than concrete slabs. Even my 16 year old daughter, who normally sleeps on a pull-out sofa bed when we travel, was sore every morning from these beds.
4. Pillows that don't leave your face bruised. Flat dead feather pillows with no give the first night. Requested foam pillow replacements. No better.
5. Towel bars or hooks. The sign says to please hang towels for a second use (save the planet you know) but there was not a single towel bar and only a single small hook on the back of the bathroom door for your clothes. There's nowhere to put a used towel but the floor. Why not put bars and/or hooks on the giant blank wall beside the tub?
6. A switch to control more than a single light perhaps? Had to do laps every night to turn all the lights off.
7. A second phone on the desk away from the bed. Everyone puts the bedside phone under the night-stand to make room for phones, c-pap machines, etc.

The concierge lounge for Elite members is ok but the breakfast served isn't even on par with that offered to all guests at less pricey hotels.

Some of these may seem trivial but cumulatively it's very difficult to justify the price.

On a positive note let me say that the staff receives 5 stars. Professional, quick to offer any assistance, knowledgeable, always a friendly smile...first rate ladies and gentlemen. The hotel shuttle is fantastic with quick service to and from anywhere in town until 10pm. The property is very clean inside and out.

In summary: I understand Park City is a desirable resort destination commanding premium rates. If the beds and pillows at least were comfortable the remaining inconveniences could be overlooked. Upgrade these to the same level as the staff and cleanliness and you've got something.

Green Features: Nowhere to hang bath towels so you must get fresh towels every day.

The Marriott really caters to skiers. Ski trips mean lots of heavy bags and tired legs. There is always someone in the lobby to help with carrying stuff, get you where you need to go. There is a ski shop on site to handle storage and tune ups. The lobby is a great place to hang especially when the hot cocoa and spiced cider shows up at 4:00. The restaurant serves a very nice breakfast. This is our second time here. We'll be coming back.

Room Tip: We stayed across the hall from the laundry on the 3rd floor. Very convenient when staying a week.

Green Features: Enjoyed the lobby water dispenser. Not sure their practices are obvious.

Although not on the slopes of Park City or Deer Valley, extremely efficient staff and shuttle service will get you to the slopes in minutes! They also store your skis at night so you never are encumbered by equipment once back in the hotel. Shuttle will take you to and from Main Street in the evening as well. Again, service far exceeds any inconvenience in location. You will enjoy your stay!
